Regarding the clubs response to one of or former players...

No reason for the club to say anything more. They have done the right thing. Treated the ex employee as innocent until shown otherwise, and a confession of guilt to a criminal offence is enough for just about any employer to dismiss on the grounds of gross misconduct. We don't need to know, nor the club explain what they might have known, suspected or thought about the circumstances. I am not a fan of the administration, but they can't be faulted on this. Byrne is a lawyer after all.

Not according to some on here, she is a secreatry, makes the tea and takes minutes.

I think it's quite naive to think the club will come out with anything like that, as much as we would all like to know what was said behind closed doors, the club will never say anything.

Someone might come out of jail and write a book however....
I think that they will release another statement after the trial is finished.

that they knew nowt obviously
But it wouldn't prove it, those that don't want to believe it would just say "I don't believe them, they are just saying it" the club can't prove anything one way or the other, which is why whatever they say will be open to criticism, the perfect damned if they do, damned if they don't scenario, and that's why they should just say no more on the matter.

If you want further details of the case there's already plenty of transcripts in the national papers.......its totally unrelated to the club though, they've done exactly the right thing by not commenting further.

Do you think we can expect a longer more detailed statement from them, once proceedings are finished? Or do you think they will just shut up and close shop?

Oh and mods, please give the thread a chance, no one has been named, this is more about the club... Pretty Pleeeeeeeease!
Jesus wept. It was a twenty four word statement. Seven of those words were, "THE CLUB WILL MAKE NO FURTHER COMMENT."

I think that they will release another statement after the trial is finished.

They wont like. He is no longer employed by the club so has nothing to do with them anymore, furthermore i imagine they want to distance themselves as far as possible from him now so wont issue a statement even if they wanted to as would draw attention back to the club.

As do I... I basically just want them to confirm they 100% knew nothing of his guilt... Hand on heart, I'm 99.9% sure they didn't, but there you go...

If he was going to plead not guilty then they could hardly sack him before the trial. I have no idea why you have a problem with their stance.
