Regarding the clubs response to one of or former players...

Do you think we can expect a longer more detailed statement from them, once proceedings are finished? Or do you think they will just shut up and close shop?

Oh and mods, please give the thread a chance, no one has been named, this is more about the club... Pretty Pleeeeeeeease!
What more needs saying? The club has said all that needs to be said and done all it can do. The last thing they want is to pipe up again and bring the spotlight back on the club.

I'd personally like to think that the club truly believed in his innocence. I supported his immediate suspension but I suppose the principle of being presumed innocent until proved guilty should apply. It would be nice to know that the club did not willingly continue to employ someone they knew/believed to be guilty of these offences. Only they can confirm this.

The bastard pleaded not guilty in previous hearings so they couldn't suspend him earlier.

Excuse me but isn't there a trial ongoing ?
Wtf do you muppets expect exactly ?
After the trial is finished I would like the club to give a timeline of their knowledge. If wanting to know the club I support acted with integrity makes me a muppet bring on Miss Piggy.

Have to admit this is the first time I have noticed any of your input. A trial is on going, leave it out.
Even a thickster like you understands.

Bloody hell abuse for having an opinion. There's some very angry people on here. Not only do they want to have their opinion it seems everyone must agree with them.

OP has a point. What if the club knew exactly what the outcome of this would be from the start? What if they thought they couldnt afford, given the clubs recent league positions, to sacrifice one of their 'so called' best performers? What if they paid him since it all came out up until now, fully aware of how things would pan out? Money vs moral? I think a full statement from the club is the least we should expect. In fact we should demand it as fans.
Not many people on here will want to believe the above, but rotten cores get mentioned a lot on the board. Maybe the rotten core stretches a little further up the corporate ladder? Who knows?

No, the stakes were far too high for that, any decisions would have been made purely on legal advice
