Red card?

I don’t see how it is any different to a late tackle anywhere else on the pitch. Add to that the dangerous / reckless play element. Should at least see yellow for me.

Keepers use closed fists to clear the ball when there is a chance it can be headed out of their hands. It’s asking for trouble every time they do it. Banning closed fists for me makes sense.

Keeper has to go for it. Class bravery from Cirkin. I'd be gutted if it was the other way round and Patterson got a red for it.

It's just a part of football in my opinion.

You could say “he’s got to go for it” about a mis-timed tackle by a midfielder that goes over the top of the ball.

The fact is, it’s an attempted challenge that’s been badly mis-timed, is nowhere near the ball and has seriously endangered an opponent. The rules aren’t different for goalkeepers, as far as I’m aware.

Nah , part of football. That said this one should be a red .
