Can't you just ring your local butcher and order one?
Aye, if I want absolutely zero control over the conditions it was raised in, in eastern europe (most likely).

Local butchers are just outlets for meal wholesalers ime these days. Price is the only consideration, not quality
Aye I looked at them - but they only sell frozen Goose.

I'd prefer fresh if I can.
Their freezing setup is class mind, but I understand if you want proper fresh. It honestly wouldn't put me off with them, their meat is by the far the best I've ever had.
Use a local butcher.

No real mention on there about the food standards. Just because its local, doesn't mean the animals aren't injected with alsorts of crap and fed GMO feeds.

Their stuff tastes class though.

What about somewhere like Mainsgill Farm Shop? Can't guarantee the goose was born and bred in Blighty and reared with tender loving care however. Any good shop or butcher should be able to tell the provenance.

Used Turner and George recently, got a full fillet and was very good and a decent price. The Turner had a hand in Pitt Cue and the Hawksmoor so you'd like to think it's got good standards.

Also been known to use Eat Great Meat. Never let me down and they have some great offers...again Fillets and Striploins have ben spot on from there. Did have a delivery issue, but that was the courier rather than them.

Fresh goose though? Nee idea....soz!

After much searching about, I'm going to give Waitrose a try for organic food, (including 100% grass-fed organic beef). They seem to be pretty much exactly what I've been looking for, whilst being about 20% cheaper than some of the specialist places.
Ocado seemed very good too, and they stock some of the specialist lines themselves on top.

What cut of beef are you in to?
