Recommend me a

Chainsaw.

Was looking to hire one but thought it's possibly more cost effective to buy one.

I've got a few trees/shrubs to remove along my back fence.

Cordless or petrol powered rather than corded.

Plenty of them to choose from on eBay.
Go for petrol around the 50cc mark.
Pay no more than £80 IMHO.
Aldi had them in last year, so if you can wait, go with their ones as you get a good long guarantee from them

No recommendations but I just hope your username doesn't become apt after you buy one mate.

I've seen enough episodes of casualty to know how these accidents can happen

Definitely petrol powered.

I bought a Parker for the sane reason and it’s bedn no bother.

62cc Petrol Chainsaw - 20” Bar & 2 x Chains + More | ParkerBrand

Obviously you can spend a fortune too.

That looks much better value than the ones for sale in b and q and screwfix

Mine is an extendable hedge trimmer, chainsaw etc. but they were the best value I could find and the quality has been great.

Not as powerful, so depends what you’re cutting down and dragging a cord around is a pain.
But they are lighter which is a bonus.
And there’s something about the smell of a two stroke engine.
tbh, I want something less powerful and less likely to cut my own arm off.

So if I can't be sure not to cut the cord, then its not for me anyway
