There is basically a car crime epidemic down here at the moment.

Personally since 2014 Ive had at least one professional attempt to steal my old Audi (which seemed to only be stopped by it being parked too close to a wall so they couldn’t get the door open wide enough to get to the OBR port). Then a possibly more basic second attempt when someone smashed the window but that might just have been vandalism. Then we had our discovery nicked last year from my parents. There neighbour on one side had a car nicked and two doors down have had two attempts on their Velar in a year.

There was one road where 6 Land Rovers were nicked in a month last year (we are close to JLR)

Sadly it appears that as technology is getting better but it’s still big business the thieves are getting desperate. Local paper had an article about two elderly people about a mile away woken up by masked men at 3 AM last week demanding the keys had seen other info on particular Land Rover forums that some thefts are getting more invasive.

I couldn’t give a toss about someone taking the car but someone breaking in for the keys is a completely different story.

Want something with ideally 3/4 cameras- front of house, back gate, front of garage and maybe one for back of garage facing the road that link to a single screen I can put by the bed that comes on with motion or similar.

Any suggestions? Fuck knows what I’d do if I saw anyone coming but at least I’d have advanced notice

Just remember to switch it off when you’re sneaking your fuckdogs in otherwise your current dog will get jealous.

It’s a sad fact these days they don’t care most are masked with hoods up so cameras aren’t a deterant, better locks and strategic parking is probably a better deterrant.
these days if it’s a car they want they will be organised and break into ya house and take the keys whether you like it or not.
know of someone recently wife and kids in the house 3 lads with machetes smashed there way in all caught on camera ……………. Different world these days unfortunately.

I bought a Hikvision colourvu took some time to understand how to fit it and run it but it’s canny now.
Fitted under the eves so it’s not really a deterrent as it isn’t easy to see.
Used POE cable.
I’m nee expert mind, stumbled my way through it and it’s the Chinese manufacturer people are moaning about.
Access my CCTV from anywhere on my phone which I like.
Especially when I’m on holiday and the bairn hasn’t put the bins out 😉

I do some work for someone who has uniview network video recorder and IP cameras. You can login from application on phone to view or pc. I believe you can also manage it via it's own cloud. The footage has always been fairly sharp, it can do clever things like counting and only recording if there is movement in a certain part of a recorded image. If you watch playback you can watch the full stream or only the parts where movement occurred. Seems you can add more cameras as you go as long as you buy a system that supports how many cameras you need. I think the person I do the work for bought it from cctvdirect, I have no affiliation to that company but have dealt with their support team and they seemed helpful

I have eufy motion cameras. Not sure it'll stop car thieves like. Got one in my garage and one on the wall. Can access it via my phone, speak to people on it. Wireless and just charge it up.

Personally, I'd get some bollards on my drive if I was worried about people stealing my car.

I purchased some Tapo C420S2 cameras and they've been brilliant. Come in a pair, Wireless (might not work for some but suited me with batteries lasting towards 200 days), 2k quality picture and full colour at night too.

Storage wise can use either an SD card as it comes with local storage unit or use TPlink cloud. Highly reccomend them tbh

That's a good idea, those retractable ones would do the trick tbh.
