Reasons to keep Steve Bruce as manager thread

why do you need so many threads?

some fantastic performances, alot of the losses we accrued were despite being far and away the better side [im thinking today, 0-2 blackppol, first 45 against fulham, 2-3 against stoke etc etc etc] better to play well and get nowt that be shite, we are far from shite.

massive steps forward in quality of side. very little net spend if any

continued establishment of premiership status - we are still a yo yo side to everyone outside sunderland, every little baby step helps.

academy is turning into a real conveyor belt, 3m for wags, henderson, colback establishing themselves, noble, lynch, cook, now laing all gettting chances

plenty to cheer ya miserable fecker

The league table suggests otherwise

i really want him to succeed but it's looking more and more likely that he's going to fuck up. this should have been one of our better seasons and there has been fuck all to cheer about. i'm willing to stick with him for one more season because at times we are playing some lovely football... BUT if he fails to motivate the team for the derby's next year i'm gonna hunt to bastard down myself!

that doesnt take into account injuries and luck..

the qualtiy of the side is the quality of the side.

youd sooner have whitehead than cattermole? or jones than gyan or delap than sessegnon just because of the table?

The fact the players are better yet the team is worse just goes to show how utterly pap the manager is.

I do agree that the quality of the side is better

But surely if the quality is better the finger of blame has to go to the manager for the position we find ourselves in league table wise

We shouldn't.

Chopping and changing managers every two years or so has been irrefutably proven as the best way to bring success to a football club.

So many disappointments. So much abject surrender of our undergarments, especially at home. Halloween. Suspiciously overmighty injury list. Selling the top striker without having a replacement. Not buying a LB after two years. Buying a million CH's. Riveros, Da Silva, Mensah, Angeleri, Kilgallon...his half time team talks, tictacs...taking his team on a holiday in the middle of the season TWO YEARS RUNNING and wondering why the wheels fall off...

must have been an impostor who had us challenging for europe first half the season then i guess

are you the type of fan that prints the league table out if we win the first two games, so you can stare at our lofty position ?

Aye, it's much better to judge the league table half way through the season than at the end.
