“I think he’s an important player,” Pardew told the Gazette.
“One criticism of the team last season was when we went behind – we couldn’t turn that into a winning situation.
“Jack’s the sort of player who’s important when you go behind.
“He has that inner determination, drive and fight in him. He’s always competitive.”
LOL
It seems to me that Rocky has a fixation about him!

i found a newspaper of the 3-0 SJP win last night
i used it to line my guinea pigs cage whilst cleaning them out
it had the match ratings and colback got a 9 and MOTM

Wahey here's the brains of the outfit.the boy piston used to destroy him in every colback thread and the lad just couldnt take it so he has this biased hatred of jack

Ginger f***ing arsehole has shown his true colours though
To be fair, he's been class in the derbies for us - bet that's the only time fish lips saw him so must think he's a world class player
I can see Colback being Cabaye's replacement, and if Pardew thinks it's a decent solution, he's in for a bit for a shock...
To be fair the Derby was probably his best display for us. I don't think he's shit but if we'd kept him I'd have only wanted him as a squad player.i found a newspaper of the 3-0 SJP win last night

Has he? He was great in the last one and ok in the one before that, last season he did nothing of note, only played 20mins at RB in the first 3-0.To be fair, he's been class in the derbies for us - bet that's the only time fish lips saw him so must think he's a world class player

Yeah when he signed for them a lot of mags I know were worried about him being a replacement for Cabaye.
I always thought you couldn't f***ing find him when the team was playing poorly
From Sunderland.....This just makes me laughYou would think they have bought Messi.
In the 1st 3-0 he wasn't pivotal and was skinned by Marveaux for Ben Arfas headed chance.
Complete and utter bollocks to suggest he played a pivotal roll.
Ha ha they are gonna get a right f***ing shock!!!!http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...-to-bring-jack-colback-to-newcastle-1-6690447

He came on a filled in and done his best. he was skinned for one of Newcastles better chances. When Colback went on it was 1-0 and we had nobody else capable of filling a key defensive position. No other player on the pitch fancied the job as there was nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Not only was Colback entering the field in an intense derby atmosphere he was doing it in a role he'd never played competitively.
Newcastle smelt blood and attacked that side relentlessly. Colback held out and in my opinion made the correct choices when under intense pressure.
If you look in a dictionary you'll find Colback's role was as pivotal as the description could be. The game pivoted in our favour, without Colback it'd probably have tipped the other way.
