Realistic options for a new gaffer

Gary Megson is available and has 2 promotions under his belt. Think there’s a good chance he’d be willing to drop to this level.

Not an exotic appointment, but he tends to do well wherever he manages, has experience, and would know what was required

Whoever replaces Jack Dross has to know League One football inside and out and know exactly how it ticks. They have to know exactly what he needs to do and how he needs to do it to beat the kind of tough opposition we will be facing. We have faced two very tough sides and will be facing another next week. And we will be facing tough sides from now till the end of the season.

Exactly this - Just like the 3 managers that got promoted from league 1 last season as an example

Keane. He was brilliant in the championship. This is league 1 so we'd get two or three good seasons out of him at least (which is longer than any manager has lasted for us for a while) and if he got us promoted he'd have earned another shot at the premiership.
Keane won't have the funds to play fantasy football like last time though.

Whoever it is will get same treatment if he loses his first few games.

Time to come the fannies on here would be typing "would rather have ross back"

Same been happening regarding Grayson and folk been saying Moyes was better.

Place is full of depressive sing when ya winning mags. Which is strange as most depressives on here laugh at their antics.

There are some constructive ross dislikers but some right knackers as well.

Aye 62 games is “a few”.

Manager at Lincoln looks good manager but I’m still hoping Ross turns people round

Yes, I mean who wants a bit if success. I really don’t like this sacking business but, if it’s not working get rid. Be more carefull next time. Do it before the window closes, if they wait, it could give us the opinion that the owners haven’t got what it takes.

Aye hes only had about 65 games and we are getting worse

So your pick would be?
Dunno. Probably Adkins. At least he’s worked within the sort of modern structure we should set up (albeit he was binned from it). He comes in from a different route so is likely to have less of an obsession with being Alex Ferguson or Brian Clough. Ideally, though I’d want us to find the next Graham Potter.

The issue is going to be that we will have the same half brains choosing the next gaffer - and they clearly don’t know what’s really required.
