and he’s talking about being in a relegation fight and the 1st rule of thumb is to not sign any loan players as they won’t give their all for the club as they belong to someone else. Ellis should read it.

I'd love Warnock hereand he’s talking about being in a relegation fight and the 1st rule of thumb is to not sign any loan players as they won’t give their all for the club as they belong to someone else. Ellis should read it.
I’d love him hear. He does talk about a prem club approaching him before he went to QPR, I did wonder if it was us. I didn’t hear that podcast, I just saw itDid you hear me recommending it on the RR Podcast a few weeks ago by chance? It's a fantastic book, probably my favourite football autobiography. It'll be one of the greatest 'what ifs' for me if Warnock never manages Sunderland. He's just perfect for us, even if people won't admit it.

hmm remember Ilan coming in on loan and helping keep us up. I think including a winner against you lot.
ah I stand correctedIlan wasn’t a loan, he signed a six month contract at the time and said he was hoping to win an extended deal with his performances.
We benefitted from a few over the years although admittedly when we weren’t fighting relegation in the championship which is what warnock is referring tooBorini was better for us when he was on loan

He could get it from the library wouldn't have to spend money then, so long as he took it back on time.Ellis should read it but his own first rule of thumb is to not spend any money, so the two aren't compatible.
I think he was turned down for the Sunderland job back in the early 90s, it might even be in the book.
