Rasperry Pi 3

I have set up my Raspberry Pi 3 and formatted it, all ready to go but I haven't got a clue where to source games from - I'm not good with torrent sites but can anyone point me in the right direction? Looking for a mix of Snes, N64 (although I've read some games are bit temperamental) and some PS1 games. I remember reading the website Emuparadise was good but looks like they've had their games removed. If I can download the games I want instead of having to download huge torrent files of games will be a bonus.

Any advice would be appreciated!

it's been a few months since I last dabbled but what size is your memory card in your Pi? I found it a lot less of a hassle to simply obtain an image file for the Pi via the likes of Pi Images Downloads Page - Pre-configured, fully loaded and Base Images for your Raspberry Pi
Thanks mate, I think it's 32gb but I can get a bigger one if needs be - is an image file what you get in a Torrent on Arcade Punks? Sorry for the daft question, I haven't got a clue and worried about getting a virus.

There are 32GB images, question is whether they'll contain the kind of content you're specifically looking for. In terms of your question, again it depends on the image some are obtained via torrent, some via google drive. If you've got your AV (even Microsoft's own/in-built Windows Security/Defender) running you should be fine regarding viruses. Have a look for "best 32gb retropie image 2019" in google/youtube and take it from there would be my humble suggestion.

Sounds like a plan thanks mate I'll have a look

Look on the retropie forums on how to set it up as a multi player games consol.
They don’t link to roms

Avoid N64 games. They have aged horribly.. Most 3d games from that era look and play like crap..

That's brilliant that mate, any plans to upgrade it with a CRT display? (I assume your using an LCD panel atm)
It would be a downgrade to a CRT, I'm using a Samsung 24 inch LCD monitor. A CRT monitor would be huge inside, I prefer the space for easier access.

Mario cart and Mario world work fine, there's a list on the retropie forums that informs you what games play well with each version.

Fair enough if size is the priority for you. But a CRT brings better looks, authenticity and more importantly visual accuracy that you can't get with an LCD (It's more than just a pseudo scanline shader for the horizontal lines).
That's why hardcore retro gaming youtube channels go to great lengths to get CRTs working properly with very specialised display driver devices etc.
But if size and portability is more important, I can understand that. It looks brilliant. Was the joysticks expensive?

The weight is also a huge factor, especially if your building a two player bar top.

The joysticks and buttons can be bought via Ali Express, I made a costing sheet with links to the places I bought each part from, I could throw it up on here.

Aye that would be canny mate. I've bought a lot of electronics components through Ali Express and never had any bother.
Are the joysticks industrial (for lack of a better word). Meaning Is the mechanism for the tilting quite strong with a metal pivot?

Did you chuck the list up mate?
