Ranieri gone

I’m not so sure. Thought he did pretty well at palace and built a solid team. I think on a short term basis at Watford he’ll bring a bit of consistency because to me it looks exactly what they’re lacking. Not just the manager but the players - apparently it’s never the same team twice
In reality, he will probably keep them up - just. But Dennis and the rest of the forwards will see their form drop, and they'd better get used to lining up with 4 DMs at home to Burnley and Newcastle, and being told having two shots on goal is a great achievement

Left us in an absolute state mind. He's no interest in anyone with creativity, and will pack the squad with 32 year olds on enormous wages will absolutely no sell on value.

After De Boer was peddled did Hodgson do a reasonable job keeping you up?

Oh absolutely. Not quite the miraculous job made out but did a fine job the first year.

Problem is he's a firefighter. He'll keep you up, but then completely stunt the club's growth afterwards. Not just the style of play (which was the worst I've ever seen, and that takes some beatings. Remember that 0-0 at the SoL when we had Pulis? Royball makes that look like a 4-4 thriller), but has absolutely no faith in youth.
Admitted he had no intention of going anywhere near Wan-Bissaka until Ward and Kelly were injured, and look at him now.
When he had young players thrust on him by the DoF (Meyer, Camarassa for example), he absolutely kills them then freezes them out. All his signings are 30+ years old on massive wages.
He even turned down Conor Gallagher in his last season, in favour of Michy Batshit!

Luckily, our American investors allowed us to let a ton go in the summer and rebuild with some funds.

I know the long term possibilities are laughable to discuss when it's Watford, but if he does keep them up and keep his job for a couple of years, they'll be in a very similar, unpleasant boat.
He'll accept 17th as a good result every season, never wants to kick on, and patronisingly remind you every week how luck you are to have him working miracles to keep you up.

If he's there for 6 months he has one job. Watford have done their January business as far as I can tell.

His treatment of Jairo Riedewald was a disgrace, too.

Aye but if he does well they'll keep him on. And hell knack them

The thought of him shithousing a double over us this season turns me stomach 🤮

Works for me, if he keeps Watford up at the expense of the Al Qeada all stars, job done

Just goes to show that people put managers and management in general on a pedestal when in reality it probably matters little. Ranieiri was winning leagues 6 years ago. Put anyone in a club with a decent culture, solid owners and a good team and you're on course to do well no matter who you are
