Rangers and the Famous ICF

Reading a decent book by Sandy Chuff, no bigging it up, told it as it was. If you don’t like the 80’s footy violence then don’t read the rest of the thread. Was at RP for Benno’s testimonial in ‘85 and know exactly what went on. What I didn’t know was about our lads turning up 4 years later at another testimonial, this time at Ibrox. In his book he stated Mackem’s were in a Glasgow boozer after the match (Blue nosed pub) and gave as good as they got. Anyone there? Again, if you don’t like the content move on
I was in Digbys when 3 SAFC lads were slashed and scarred for life. Was fans from London who did it

All this talk of mags tops and celtic tops .... I remember a lad climbing out of the Rangers lot and running towards the Fulwell (clock stand corner). He lay down a Rangers scarf and a SAFC scarf together, kneeled down and started bowing to them.

Nah we started that, they started going mad for no reason. I was watching them as I was next to the fence trying to spot me mate.

Looked halfway up the Fulwell and some lad in celtic top.

Cue one of them to take jumper off to show mag top - he got on his mates shoulders and did it.

All on us that one though 100% sure.
The lad in the Celtic top was a mate of a lad I knew.
I'm sure the Mags top was on display first.
But it's a long time ago so it's hard to remember the course of events.
They were wankers though and I never want to see them back here.

If you invite Celtic or rangers to almost any game in england they will want to put on a show , so to speak , will always be trouble
Cos when they’re not playing each other they are bored out of their brains playing in Scotland where no other club attracts over 12k on a regular basis and many not anywhere near that apart from when they play the Glasgow clubs.
When either have been down here in comparatively recent times we haven’t been doing well and our fans weren’t really arsed about the games.

Both of the Glasgow clubs, however, weren't exactly getting huge crowds either. Before Souness became Rangers manager, they would sometimes get four figure crowds at Ibrox. It was pretty much the same at Parkhead. The season after Rangers came down for the Benno testimonial, their rivals pulled in 9,000 for a league game.

The only time they'd get huge crowds were derby matches, midweek European games, and potential title-affecting clashes with Aberdeen, Dundee United or Hearts.

Exactly mate. I was in the corner next to the floodlight.

Shouldn't you and the OP be out guarding statues or something?

No he’s probably too busy apologising for he’s perceived “white privilege” and being held accountable for the actions of people hundreds of years ago! some right clowns on here like!!!

Feck off.
Is guarding a statue against facists who want to destroy it a bad thing?

What are “facists” ?

Hope you had a seat, as you'd have been sitting in it for 8 years.
Benno's testimonial vs Rangers was in 1993, not 1985.
We were drinking with Rangers without any bother at all before and after the game.
One of them gave me and my mate cans each. We were only 13. Friendly as owt.

I was victim of an attempted/minor stabbing on my first lads holiday in Spain about a week later as a shit load of Rangers lads were over there and took an instant dislike to us when they found out we were Sunderland

Only times I have been to Ibrox and Parkhead , crowds of 14000 Rangers v Hibs in 1983 and 16000 Celtic v Partick in 1992

I love the fact on the second line of your post you say if you don't like 80s football violence then don't read the rest of the post, then people read the rest of the post and complain about its content , f***ing unbelievable
