Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, 1987-88 season in the 3rd Division.
In the Woodcutter, in Hartlepool on the Friday, night, and the cousin of a H/pool born Blackpool player, assured me of a complimentary ticket for the game, the next day.
I turned up at Blackpool, along with the red n white hordes, and after a few pints, I went to the players entrance to pick up my comp ticket.
What a f***ing farce.
It turns out the Blackpool player, had already given the ticket to someone else.
So, along with a few hundred other ticketless Sunland fans, we were outside the ground, and thinking of heading back to the pubs.
The coppers then decided to let us all in the ground for free, rather than have us causing chaos in the pubs.
Result !
We won the game, 2-0, and I managed to get on the pitch at full time, and was swinging on the crossbar, with a few other lads, when it snapped, and we ended up in a heap on the deck.
All in all, a canny day out.
I missed only two away games that season, and travelled to nearly all of those games by train, thanks mainly, due to having a dodgy railcard.

Hello mate.
It was a cracking day out mind, apart from you having your wallet nicked 😣
I shouldn't have been swinging on the crossbar mind.
I was 24 years old and should've known better, but drink makes us do daft things at times. 😊

Wigan and the mudsliders that same season, was the best laugh I've ever had at an away game.
Most of us there, forgot there was a match being played 😂

Ipswich 81 first game of season. Went direct from Shildon club on bus midnight Friday night. Were there 6 in morning police didn’t know what to with us, got a cafe opened to put us in for breakfast. Parked at ground and a door was open so we had kick about on the pitch, got chased and ended up drinking cans watching a netball game. Drew 3-3 and spent the night in Yarmouth. Slept on a generator box outside a hotel to keep warm and bus back on the Sunday.

I was at that game.
I missed my best mate's wedding, so I could be at the game.
Was asked to be the best man, but had to say no.

January 2006 Brentford in the FA cup. Lost 2-1 to a very late DJ Campbell goal. Bogs in the away end resembled a swimming pool full of piss.

Blackburn away midweek just before the 92 cup final - we had to wear their 3rd strip some horrid yellow nonsense - remember our fans singing ‘what the f@@@ing hell is that’ to our players and them just laughing
Think we drew 2-2

Was there. Very low turn out by us, due to Wembley vs Liverpool coming up. I think Armstrong scored one of the goals, but I think B'Burn equalised late on. They sneaked in the play offs after having a terrible run, but ended up promoted at Wembley.I got interviewed by someone whilst the match was on, with regards to Policing and stewarding at the match. Strange situation. :/

Blackburn away. 0-0. 2010-ish I think. Monday night. Live on Sky.

Had just moved to uni in Lancaster. The lads were all set to go watch the game in the SU bar but against my better judgement I decided, at 5pm, to dash to the train station and go to the match. Googled train times, checked what train I could get and off I went. Completely forgot to check logistics for getting home. Game was total shite. It was pouring of rain and everyone was miserable. Came out at the end and needed a taxi. Nowhere was picking up at Ewood because of match traffic. I waited about 45 minutes before a taxi firm was willing to send a taxi. I missed the last train back to Preston so when the taxi arrived I asked him to race the train to get me to Preston. £80 later I was there in time for my connection. £120 spent on transport. I wouldn't have spent that if I had travelled home from uni and then got the branch bus.

Long story short - I should have just watched the game on Sky.
