Was that a Sky match Monday night? Was at Bolton one year when Mickey Gray scored and think it must have been the same match you mention.
Gray scored a worldly and we let in an inevitable late equaliser from a ball into the box. Think this was the game that reyna got injured. Absolutely class player.

Man u away, game of the season 1975 ish (memory going getting old) lost 3-2 hell on all ower the ground, in the scoreboard end, thousands of us there but all over the ground, left with a broken nose hahaha oh memories

Never went, too young, 74-75 I think.

Heard there was absolute hell on that day.

I remember one lad told me he got chased onto the pitch from the scoreboard end into the paddock.
Soon after, they chased him from there onto the pitch again, and then back into the scoreboard end!

Btw if anyone is unfamiliar with this game, it was on MOTD, have a look on YouTube.
60,000 in Div 2, I think, a fantastic goal with a brilliant one -two between iirc Pop Robson and Billy Hughes.
I think it was voted second in goal of the season.

Oldham away midweek, can’t remember when but the coldest I have ever been at a game. Crap game going nowhere until Bally smashed past 3 defenders to head in a corner and I exploded.

Opening Day 1988 Everton Away. We had signed Beasant, Thorn, Hendrie and Robertson.
Travelled down full of optimism. This was the start of great things.
1-0 down after about 20 seconds (Tony Cottee's debut). Lost 4-0. Finished bottom.
God yeah I recall Newcastle went on a splurge of signing players I thought they would be dark horses for the league that year
Halfway through the season you pinched jim smith and Wayne getaway from us and still got relegated

as for my random away day
Southampton away simod cup 1990 I was one of 4 QPR fans in the away end , we got thrashed 4-0 and Paul Parker broke his leg
Also been at Hillisborough for a game I walked out on after 30 minutes , a few of the lads were making a weekend of it in Sheffield and the crack was brilliant in the pub before hand anyway we get in the ground it’s cold , drab and it’s got 0-0 all over it so I left and joined the party not realising that 20 others had also left to join this lads weekend
We went back to the pub around 50 of us and carried on drinking
The landlord was pissing himself laughing

the game did finish 0-0 so we made the right choice

Reading Away 1994/95.....We won 2-0.....highlight of the game was the bloke infront of me who was so pissed his three mates leant into him in a triangle shape to stop him dropping to the floor....every time one of them moved he went down like a cheap date.....we started taking bets as to which was he would topple....

I think it was 61,000 at old Trafford and 52,000 at RP in the return fixture

August 2004, Tuesday night, Reading 1-0 Sunderland. Nicky Forster scores the only goal in the second minute.

Long drive down, long drive back. Fuck alin between.

was there, tidied

the night Fergie signed Shrek
Rotherham 0-1 Sunderland, Tuesday night (again), October 2004. Dean Whitehead with the only goal at a very dated Millmoor.

Stopped off for a pint on the way home, and a group of people in the pub appeared on the TV show 'Eggheads' the next day.
Monday Night Football it was mate

George Gavin on the temp TV gantry at side of away end

Portsmouth in the cup 2010/2011. We lost and it was crap. Got hammered at Chelsea the Saturday before and then at Everton the midweek after. Crap 10 days!

Hull away 2017. 2-0 to us. I think it was Jones and Defoe. I've got a mate that's a Hull fan I used to work with, went down for a catch up and to watch the match. Obviously we sat in different ends, I would've got my head kicked (by my mate) in if I was in their end.

Went out on the piss with him after, can't remember much apart from falling asleep on the train home, woke up to the train leaving, Leeds I think it was, heading back to Hull. It was also the last train. Ended up in the most disgusting hotel I've even seen. Hull city of culture? My arse.

Class away day.

Leicester City away Bank Holiday Monday May 1985 and Gary Lineker's last match for the Foxes before his megabucks transfer to Everton. We had at most 1000 there that night.

Sat in that block of seats we had by the corner flag, and being bombarded with coins thrown from their Baby Squad who say in the upper seats behind the goal, under that pen of terracing SAFC fans had behind the goal. Leicester away back then was propper nawty, with a dodgy walk from the station to Filbert Street.

5 days later and already relegated made the long journey up to Roker Park from Maidstone for our last month of the season against Ipswich - stood on a deserted Roker End in a crowd of 8004.

Happy Days following the lads in the 80s, away followings were all lads and made for a cracking atmosphere.

Chester away not long after they had opened their new ground. I cannot remember if it was a cup game, nor what the score was or anything about it but the ground was shiny and new.
League Cup game, I went, 2nd leg ???

best pie I’ve ever had
Hull away mid 70s with the police horse on the railway terrace end trying to control our supporters.

this

train back from ground to Hexagon st was “injured” ;)

There was hell on, no segregation, same colours, f***ing bedlam in the scoreboard end, 25p to get in and 8p for a programme though :lol::lol:

this, hell on

I was in Stretford End, only terrace open when we (3) got there. Went next to the fence on the right & saw a MLF I knew, he recognised me & was shouting & waving - cue turn round with the rest looking for who he was waving at ;)

They were singing-How did you win the cup. Soon after they had to put up with - Thats how we won the cup :)

Half time underneath, quite a few knowing nods gan on :)

btw - best match I’ve ever seen.
I

Yeah now that you mention it, I think it was a cup game. What year was that then?

I was 62 yesterday & only kna that cos family telt me ;)
