Years ago I used to work in Newcastle and was seeing a mental lass from Killingworth. I had survived another night at her place and was driving into Newcastle and arrived at the roundabout in Jesmond where the coast road enters Newcastle. As I approached the roundabout a red Ford Fiesta stalled on the roundabout blocking the exit road from the roundabout into Newcastle. The driver was a young lass and I watched her for about fifteen seconds getting frustrated and upset as she tried to start the car. This was the rush hour and people started honking their horns and she looked like she was about to burst into tears, so I hopped out of my car and went to help her. I told her to get out and I would see if I could start it: she told me it was her mam's car and she'd never driven it before. As I got into her car I saw straightaway what the problem was: she had the choke full out and had flooded the engine. I pushed the choke back in, floored the accelarator and span the engine up. After a few seconds the engine burst into life and I got out of the car, telling her to only use the choke to start a cold engine. She thanked me and got in her car and drove off.
