Police mainly, when the SoL was built there was police cells built underneath the ground and theres no other convenient place to keep the away fans incase anything kicked off.

Ellis Short was fuming after the Newcastle away game, wanted to get them moved straight away.

P.S absolutely top night, really give me a lift after all the negativity of late

So basically the club are bowing down to the police again. It would take little time and little cost to build some breeze blocks during the off-season wherever the away fans are going to be moved or alternatively the police could start earning their money and escorting the culprits around the outside of the ground to the cells.

The police advised the council that it wouldnt be safe & the council would refuse to grant planning permission

Do you really think that if it was just a case of building brease block cells, the board wouldn't get it done. Think of the bigger picture. Where would you have the away coaches parked etc.

The board has a "can do and want to attitude" so if they can't do something it's not for the want of trying or "bowing down to the police".

At SJP it's an obsticle course from the train/bus to the away end. It's still been allowed.

You could easily put the away fans in the North upper, tarmac the waste ground next to the swimming pool and park the away coaches there, build some breeze block cells on the outside of the concourse, job done (if Northumbria (NEWCASTLE) police weren't so arsey and our council weren't so pathetic).

If you put away supporters in the North Stand you could have a tarmaced area laid outside the North Stand and a fence round similar to Stoke.

It's shit that like, why can other clubs move stuff around and we can't. It f***ing hinders our on the pitch progress too having the away fans in such a good position to influence their team.

Thanks for the info though mate. Any otherinteresting stories/bits of info?

A lot of stuff, this Ellis Short truly does just seem like Quinn has sold him the dream. When we played Chelsea away, Short was in a Singapore hotel in the middle of the night. He got warned 3 times that if he didn't keep the noise down they'd move him.

Ellis didn't quiet down

Nothing mentioned about the possibility of the introduction of safe standing areas?

Quinn & Bruce both said they'd love it and talked about past experiences, but the bloke in gov who would be responsible WOULD NEVER sign for it, incase anything bad happened (crushing or something)

One of the best stories came from Quinny. He was talking about when he was playing and he had gone over on his ankle during training. He was touch and go for the game on the saturday so Reidy gave him a fitness test on the morning of the game. He failed the test and bumped into Bobby Saxton on his way out,so Quinny informed him that his ankle was no good. so Saxton started to get in to him about how he was a big time charlie with his fitness tests and he should play any way. so Quinny told him "Bob i can't kick the ball for christs sake." To which Saxton replied "when have we ever asked you to kick the ball"

Great stuff lads, lets crush the negative wankers on here

Did he say which one? Wish I'd known he was in town :D

One question was asked about the pink seats and what the club was doing about it. Quinnys answer " putting arse's on them" :)
