Not a chance.
There'd be a queue as long as your arm for the Arsenal job - the problem for them is timing... they missed a chance when Klopp and Guardiola were available, they'll have to wait for another decent window of opportunity for another big name to come around. I suspect they'd like another statesman like manager - in which case, Simeone is probably ruled out. Ancelotti maybe, but age is against him. Alternatively they might go for a lesser know much younger 'up and coming' manager - but that would upset the fans and be seen as risky.

But Rafa? that would be neither one nor the other. Just a half-arsed appointment.

Probably a rumour started by Wenger or his agent to scare the living daylights out of Arsenal fans in general and the idiot known as Piers Morgan, in particular.

perfect for Arsenal then

Moyes , get a compo deal sorted Ellis lad

Total none story.
A) he's on the shortlist if wenger decides to leave.
So the paper hasn't a clue if Wenger is staying or not.
B) rafa will bring in Henry as his assistant.

So benitez has held talks with Henry and also Henry has agreed to this as well. All while Benitez is still in a job, and Henry is also employed by Belgium. And the Mirror knows this because both parties have told them? Obviously all based on Wenger deciding to leave. If he stays, this never happened.

Or do we think it could be the mirror writing a load of lies, but with an article about one of the biggest clubs in Europe potentially changing their manager. It's the hot story in football at the minute, and is usually the hot topic whenever Arsenal have a sticky patch.
Add in the name Rafa Benitez and it gets the interest of Newcastle fans, Sunderland fans and probably Liverpool fans as well. Then just at the bottom of the article, almost dismissively add in three other possible candidates.

Might as well have said "wenger might leave, might not. Here's some guesswork based on the hypothetical situation of him leaving"

They'll end up getting £10m in compo or something daft like that. Then they'll appoint Moyes and win the champions league.
