Race across the world

2 pairs of shorts, two T-shirts,flip flops, one pair of trainers, couple of pairs of socks and briefs, and a pair of trousers saw me from india into Pakistan and right across china to Hong Kong.2018 I travelled across north india and Nepal then Bhutan with 7.5 Kilos of luggage,as soon as I got to lodgings I washed the briefs, socks and the T-shirt and they were normally dry the following morning.

Does Bhutan still do it's $200 a day fee on foreign visitors?

In fairness, it's pretty much all that Sam spends money on.

Whatever Sam spends on food, it seems Jen has spent on clothes. The odd more expensive bit of gear turns up at times and at check-ins, she's always wearing that hideous designer yellow dress!!!

Yes, depending on season. I wrote a blog about it as it's a really unusual and convoluted process to get there and when I went there was little useful information around on the net.

I was in india back in 1989,i turned up at the border with Bhutan at Phuentsholing,i didn't realise at the time it was a $200 a day fee, they didn't let me in,2018 it was $270 a day as a solo traveller.

I went with a pal and I think it was $225/230 a day each as a pair? I can't recall. It's in that blog somewhere but I can't be arsed to look for it.

Gives you the itch to travel again this show. Really fancy Argentina.

Ilha Grande? Coastline is spectacular round that part of Brazil , jungle and beach together. Google Ubatuba too.

Argentina likely wins on "sights" but I slightly preferred Chile and Brazil.
Didn't think much of Chile or Argentina personally. Did a few standout nature-based activities in each but they just didn't resonate with me in the way that places like Colombia and that did.

They all sound good to me! We had two weeks in Texas and New York blown out in March by the virus so have a healthy chunk of BA vouchers to use on long haul when this eventually quiets down. Temporarily or otherwise. South America is the only continent neither of us have been to.

I loved every bit of the whole continent I visited. Been to all of it except Venezuela and the three little countries in the north (hopefully get back to visit those one day).

I think I fell in love with SA on my first day in Columbia.

I absolutely adored my time there . From the spectacular scenery, the people, the sheer emptiness to the crowds. Wish I could have stayed longer. (Did four months, so have experience of those overnight buses too. Sad when you see the ones that have gone over a mountain edge too.)

I get that, but they are generally heading in a southerly direction. The commentator also stated that to fly from Mexico City to the tip of S. America would take 20 hours.
I think that's two flights. Mexico City to Buenos Airies would be probably 8 hous max.

Buenos Airies to Ushuaia I'd say 4 hours tops.

That's an 8 hour wait at Buenos Aires if 20 hour is correct???
