Aye...Chairman Quinn...he can appoint Martin O’Neill as Director of football with Roy Keane as manager.
Great set up that. Would be brilliant

Got the feeling Quinny was a bit sick of all the hassle by the time he left.

I think he went into it with the belief that with Murray gone and Premier League football back the ground would be packed out, but it never really happened. There was a lot of 40k+ gates but I suspect they were boosted by cheapies/freebies.

Then there was the thing with people watching the foreign channel in pubs. He used some wrong words, but I think he felt like people were taking the mick a bit. Here he was getting investment for the team and people couldn’t be fussed to turn up and watch in person.

Also things like the Bent/Gyan transfers seemed to give him a lack of faith in modern footballers too.

Personally I’ll always be grateful for him for having the vision and faith to drag us off our knees a decade or so ago. At the time there was every chance of us heading where we are now.
Excellent post. He wasn’t getting spoken to by Short towards the end which probably finished him off.

Would be a nice thought, I am sure he learned from his time and would do things differently long term, but as many people have mentioned, would be surprised if he would have the energy to drag us out again.

Will be forever grateful for what he did for us the last time we were in this position in putting himself forward, but can't see it again.

Funny how you can attribute such certainty to my intention there. What gives you the impression it’s sarcasm?

Are you not like?

Aye spot on, great post.

He is a dreamer Quinn, and he realised that it wasn't just going to happen, modern game is too harsh

You are right, we were heading to league 1 without him IMO

It was tongue in cheek as it won’t happen...would be great though.

He’s an intelligent bloke. No way would he make the same mistake twice

Was it a mistake?

He became an absolute legend here, covered himself in glory with his testimonial gesture and gave the club 10 years in the top league. His legacy was squandered by Short but that’s not his fault. He also earned a good salary here which set him up for his later business ventures.

It's really not Stephen. Look at how much money we've made from our most successful period since the 1950's.

It's really not a goldmine like.
That's your opinion and fair enough

The last bit is bollocks.
Which bit? Merchandise? 1.6 million followers on Facebook. I would bet canny money that nigh on them all, have the minimum of one shirt. That equates to around 50 million quid.

Yeah, Quinn's going to ride to the rescue and load us up with more debt in the process.
