I commute this daily, the trip will take between 30 minutes and 3 hours depending on traffic, crashes, breakdown, flat tyres etc.

I'd set off about 2.30pm because once you get near 4pm the whole western bypass collapses into chaos.

It's currently 3.30pm and the A1 has slow traffic and queues at the Angel
