Question about headsets/party chats

Was trying to have a game of Fortnite on the Xbox with my boy who is having to stay at his Mams at the minute. We’ve both got headsets, were both displayed as been in the party chat on Fortnite but can we hell hear each other! Tried using the Xbox party chat too - but he wasn’t receiving my invites.

Tried all sorts to get it working yesterday but no joy! Anyone else had a similar issue? Any suggestions?

Wireless or wired? The wireless one I had for ps4 had to be paired with a usb stick. Can you hear anyone else, or your own voice if you do a mic test?

Both wired mate. I can hear my own voice, and I can hear others on other games. Wondering if its something to do with the parental settings his mam has set on his Console?

Could be privacy settings.
Make sure you haven't muted each other as well.

Just FaceTime each other, that’s what my lads and me do when playing warzone- fuck the headset off totally
