Oh my actual word. It’s because most of the London clubs were formed by the same family in the 1880’s. There were triplets - Davey Rangers, Davey Hotspurs, and Davey Palace - they all formed football clubs - but none of them were allowed to use their real names to provide anonymity to the family.
