Pulled over doing 101mph on motorway

Did 120mph on the Autobahn this morning, nothing out of the ordinary.

Was clear and a bright dry day, felt like a safe comfortable cruise.

When I drop to 70 and show my German mates the UK speed limit the response is a bit

Ooooo how macho.......... parp!

I'm not looking for sympathy, I was caught fair and square and obviously have made a mistake.

They had me on a time distance machine over 2mins and 101 was the average speed. They said it was collaborated that day. I pretty much admitted guilt on their statement but I opted out of signing it.

Does anyone know what I should expect or has this happened to anyone else?

I am told they will send me a summons and I will have to go to court (more than likely when i am supposed to be on holiday). Does anyone know if what fine, points, ban I am likely to get? Is it worth getting a solicitor?

Any advise would be appreciated!

Expect nothing less than total anal destruction.

Good luck to the op though, probably going to need it. I've got that ebook about your rights and what you should know etc, pm me if it's of any interest and I'll try to dig it out.

Aye best of luck to the OP.100 mph isn't really that fast in the right circumstances.Try driving at 70 mph for any length of time and the only things you'll pass are wagons and caravans.Everything else whizzes past.I regularly speed on motorways(as do most drivers) and i've been lucky enough to have never been caught.
I did get stopped doing 49 in a 30 zone once and the copper was really great."just be a bit more careful in future lad.now get yersel away".:)

Got pulled in billingham a19 many moons ago by a squadie on a bridge above said road just spotted him in time to get down to 97.very lucky indeed

I think they said something similar to Freddie West ... "If you hadn't been abducting, assaulting and murdering innocent young girls you'd probably just have fallen foul of the building regs."

Some people are just unlucky.

Very good flav

Massive sympathy with you, there are times when it's dangerous to go 100 (generally 99% of the time), but there are times when it it's perfectly safe too.

Never perfectly safe. What if a tyre shreads, you hit a deer, steering column locks etc etc

Might be relatively safe for other people sometimes, not for you

Got done on the way up for the Newcastle match near Wetherby.

No-one on the road, 8:30 in the morning.

I was relieved when he held the gun up and it said 96. He told me I was a point away from the magistrates.

I took the 3 points and £60 fine, and vowed, yet again, not to be silly in future.

You're lucky mate.

I was pulled over on the M1 a few years ago for doing exactly the same period. Except I got a court summons.

In the end, pleaded guilty by post and got 4 points and a £300 fine.

You'll get a 6month ban and a fine of up to a grand - anything else would be an exception.

Don't bother with a solicitor, they'll do no more than you can do yourself.

Don't spout stuff about it being a clear road.......show some humility and contrition and they might take it easy.

Bad luck mate, it could happen to any of us

I thought if it was over 100mph it's an instant ban from driving for good?

Well, yes if you drive for a number of minutes at over 100 mph :p

I thought if it was over 100mph it's an instant ban from driving for good?

Only if you're James Dean
