Pulled over doing 101mph on motorway

The 70 mph National Speed Limit was introduced as a temporary measure in December 1965.

The worlds longest 'Temporary' anything! Its about time it was raised as even the shittiest cars now can easily do 100 mph - not the case in 1965. (The rumours at the time were that AC and Jaguar were using the then new M1 to test new cars - AC Cobras and E Types - up to 180mph and the Govenrnment somehow found out.)

My mate has owned several exotic cars including Ferrari, Aston and Lamborghini. Their top speeds are around 180 and up.

As beautiful as they are, especially to a 14 year old, I wonder where you can drive them when you risk a ban if you go ver 100mph. Do you ever get out of third gear?

Got done on the way up for the Newcastle match near Wetherby.

No-one on the road, 8:30 in the morning.

I was relieved when he held the gun up and it said 96. He told me I was a point away from the magistrates.

I took the 3 points and £60 fine, and vowed, yet again, not to be silly in future.

Trackdays mate , or German Autobahns (de - restricted ones still exsist)

Not if he comes up with a sob story.
I know 3 lads who escaped a ban doing so and one was caught doing 125 MPH.

I actually asked the magistrates (on the advice of the solicitor I consulted) for a short ban rather than points as I'd be driving around the equivalent of Cattermole playing on a yellow card. I'd sooner have a short, sharp ban and be done with - take the punishment comensurate with my misdemeanour, then crack on with the rest of my life.

You could always stop speeding.
I know someone who has a lad driving him about due to the same reason.

I have to a large extent. I would say on an open motorway these days I rarely go over 80-85 where in the past it would have been around the 100 mark.

Yes it's still over the limit, so let he who is without sin ...

I got a 6 month ban for doing 101 mph, it could have been reduced to 3 months and a driver awareness course if i admitted i was guilty before i went to court but as i had 11 points already i took the ban and got a clean licence back.

Now that is just ridiculous, you should be ashamed of yourself.
You weren't in an ice cream van were you..?

Was on the way to my Uncles house, he had just rang me to say my mother had died, she was being cared for by him. No I'm not ashamed.
