Surely a place that doesn't sell beer isn't a pub so unless they adapted to well a coffee shop or restaurant they'd be dead in a matter of weeks as who wants to sit in an absolute shit hole when you can go to some decent coffee shops which are knocking about lately (if you go out at all).

Plenty of pubs are beautiful. Regardless of what I'm supping I'd not choose to do it in what I deemed to be a shithole.
But in this scenario alcohol is now banned, it's gone, no longer sold in this country. So what is there to howl about? Protest the law is about it.I refer you to the howling about pubs in lock down

Most of the younger generation don’t go in pubs anyway, so it makes no difference.
I probably mean more your local pub.Is that true?
I've got a friend who often orders a cup of tea after a few beers to slow himself down. Costs the pub pennies to make but can charge over 2 quid for it.

No !If the government banned alcohol so pubs could only offer soft drinks and 0% beers would people still go? Many say its the social side of it that they enjoy so presumably a pub would still be a good place to meet friends. Particularly in the NE as according to this place blokes don't meet up with their mates unless the pub is involved.
