Pubs that still have VAUX signs

I say as does everyone else from working class areas of Sunderland “VARX”

Posh gits sat “VAOOORRX”
Same for me never heard anyone say it any other way.
Watched a bloke on YouTube reviewing Double Maxim who pronounced it 'Voh'. Even gave a bit of a spiel about the origin of the name and it narked me something rotten the way he kept mispronouncing it.

Nee one from Sunderland pronounced it like that. Vaux rhymes with orcs.

French way of saying it.

Nee idea how to put pics up but I’ve got some topper VAUX stuff in my bar.
I’d love a lantern for outside. I’ve even got the VAUX signage guideline book with all the specs for dimensions and colours so hopefully I can get an exact replica made

I always thought it was pronounced "Vorks" - that's how I always said it growing up in the NE.
I did here somebody pronounce it as "Voh" once (as in rhymes with "go")

When did Sammy take it over? Did he put the pool table in?
Fuck me - years and years ago.
I shall ask him when he actually took over.
I have known him for well over 30 years by the way.
But I have always known him in there up until Dora sadly passed away, and then he retired.
