The Cross Keys.Boozer in Sherburn village next door to coop still has. Dont know the name of it mind
The Shoes, Sunderland Road.Pub in Gilesgate, possibly called the shoes. Our supporters branch coach goes past it on way to match. It's got plenty of the old vaux signage
Always quite fancied a 'Bass' lantern.Always love seeing a VAUX sign. Don’t even mind a Blue Star in fairness.
Explain?Makes me laugh the way the younger generation and posh people in their 40’s,50’s,60’s etc say Vaux.
I say as does everyone else from working class areas of Sunderland “VARX”Explain?
The Brown Bear was definitely Vaux, I think it was frequented by the Berwick Sunderland supporters club.Seem to remember a lot of Vaux pubs in Berwick when we played there 81ish.
VORKS for me in Durham (Home of food).I say as does everyone else from working class areas of Sunderland “VARX”
Posh gits sat “VAOOORRX”
Been in there a few year back. It's "interesting" to say the least. There’s one in Bensham/ Deckham area. Not sure what it’s called. Has all the Vaux stuff outside. Think it’s called the Azure Blue.
Good boozer that

Those stone/porcelain plaques are actually fibreglass. I’ve got one from the Vaux social Club by the bridge.there was a pub in Ryhope shut down years ago and outside was one of them stone/porcelain plaques outside the door, obviously VAUX, and I was gonna go round there and just take the c*nt off myself. I think the place (The Wellington) has been shut down near twenty year.
Anyway I think during COVID they were doing the place up as if it was gonna open again and when I last walked past the VAUX plaque had gone. Maybe they just took a business bounce-back loan and fucked the idea of opening it off, I dunno![]()
I‘ve walked past that quite a few times. There are a few Vaux plaques on the wall. There’s one in Leeds which is a Chinese restaurant now I think
The Copenhagen ?Two on derelict pubs on Oldham Road in Manchester
