Last year there was no drink in the ground - from what the stewards said it was more to do with bother in previous games than our fans.

Ended up going into Asda and joining the group of our fans standing outside enjoying their beers. Not exactly classy, or ideal. Think the fact it was a Sunday game contributed to lack of places to go too. Was one pub not far from the ground seemed to have plenty of away fans there but looked about 10 deep to get to the bar.

love it
when a pub gets drunk n is like " what can i down to impress my pub mates " n it sees a pack of wolves gannin past n it says

You're probably thinking of the Goal Post - yon side of ASDA from the away end we'll be in. It was rammed and was hard to even get to the bar.

The city centre now seems to be a complete lock down, which is a real pity. The Royal London was letting some Sunderland supporters in last season, but it was the exception.

Crap around the ground, makes Sunderland look like Monte Carlo, stop off somewhere outside as has been suggested

Went to The Great Western last year, before and after. They had a bouncer on but he just asked if we were away fans, said yes and he asked we respected where we were. No bother at all, canny beer, good chips etc.

Back under the train station and turn right it's a two minute walk.

weatherspoons in lichfield street, opposite the brittania hotel where they are building the new bus station. also some good pubs at the top of the road. about 10/15 minute walk from ground just off the ring road

Home fans only in town centre last year and nee beer in ground for us. As i went with my daughter in law who is a wolves fan just took me sunlun shirt off and gave it to her to put in her bag. Bouncer at Spoons seen us but didnt bother me as she had a wolves top on. Talking to a few fans inside who sussed me as a mackem but decent crack

FFS who goes to the area around the ground to drink

It will be f***ing packed
The beer will be piss
The price will be silly
If you are on a bus or in fact any mode of transport, call in a pub aboout 5-10 miles away from the ground

One of the best away boozer's anywhere, the last I heard, Man Utd fans trashed it and it became home fans only, can somebody update me if this is still the case?

As it was the last game of last season and they haven't played Man Utd at home yet this season I couldn't say, but if it is then it was last year as well and they had no qualms letting us in. There was only a few of us in and we got there early while it was still empty like, though there was others in with colours I think.

Best to drink in Brum and get train in (10-15min) from snow hill, bit ropey in and around wolves on a matchday for an away fan like
