And does this prevent working in certain areas such as NHS -fire -forces ect
If it does it’s a heavy price to pay for some….
Plenty heavy coke users also commit crime to fund their habits thoughI don't think there'll be many smack heads in a pub with drugs on them on a Saturday night.
From an NHS perspective anything popping up on a DBS is a right ball ache to muddle through even if not relevant to the roleAnd does this prevent working in certain areas such as NHS -fire -forces ect

Do they? Like what?Plenty heavy coke users also commit crime to fund their habits though
So how does arresting users help? All part of the same supply lines.
My brother stole almost 10k from my mam and my grandparents via bank fraud to fund his. Went to prison for it.Do they? Like what?

Okay, fair enough. That's pretty bleak. My brother stole almost 10k from my mam and my grandparents via bank fraud to fund his. Went to prison for it.
Good.Witnessed my first what I would call proper raid by the police last night in Lloyds bar Durham. From my vantage point they blocked the exits off then sent the sniffer dogs in. Was quite amusing seeing about 30-40 solemn people getting frog marched out about 10 minutes later. Been in a few boozers where the odd copper has been walking about but nowt as organised as what I seen yesterday. Anyone witnessed out similar in the past?

Every little helps.Okay, fair enough. That's pretty bleak.
For the record, I think it's a bit shite that some people can't go on a night out without regular visits to the toilets to power their noses, but I'm not sure if arresting people like this is going to have the same impact on related crime as arresting junkies who get wasted in places other than pubs.
Do they? Like what?
Our eldest lad would take out multiple payday loans, borrow from loan sharks, once hocked his car to a logbook lender, and would take out mobile phone contracts to get the phone to sell it. All to feed his coke habit. My brother stole almost 10k from my mam and my grandparents via bank fraud to fund his. Went to prison for it.
It wasn't me who said that.Every little helps.
You could argue junkies are a lost cause. The recreational user on an expensive night out looking for "a release" (you can fuck off with that nonsense by the way) might think twice if there's a chance of having their collar felt.
I never said it was - I was generalising. It wasn't me who said that.
Sorry to hear that, and I certainly don't think "it's just a bit of a laugh". I know people who are paranoid as owt because they use coke. I think it turns people into dick heads. Our eldest lad would take out multiple payday loans, borrow from loan sharks, once hocked his car to a logbook lender, and would take out mobile phone contracts to get the phone to sell it. Used our address on any paperwork (he hasn't lived with us for years now - for obvious reasons) meaning we got all the threatening letters for non-payment, notifications that bailiffs would be sent to our home, all that kind of sh!te.
He did this not once, but on half a dozen occasions, all after we had bailed him out each time previously. We used all of our savings, took out loans, borrowed from other family members. Each time he was full of remorse, tears flowing, swearing he would never do it again.
The worst day of my life was driving him around Sunderland with a bag full of cash paying off the various loan sharks he owed money to. Lowest I've ever felt.
This all happened years ago - me and the missus have never recovered the thousands of savings we lost because he has no way to pay it all back. He thinks we have forgotten, but we haven't. It nearly split us up because of all the stress and grief it caused.
None of this resulted in the law being involved but anyone who thinks it's just a bit of a laugh and there's no real harm done is a f@cking moron who needs to grow up.
Just my opinion of course.
Going out, having fun and taking drugs recreationally isn't the same as being addicted to smackIt's nuts, a massive amount of crime like burglaries, sheds, cars and garages being broke in to are done by local addicts to pay for drugs. When on the rare occasion they get locked up it virtually stops until they get back out again. Drugs cause absolute misery but for some reason they are seen as a bit of harmless fun on here.
This.Good.
It's the same supply line and you fund the same people.Going out, having fun and taking drugs recreationally isn't the same as being addicted to smack
All part of the same murky circle.Going out, having fun and taking drugs recreationally isn't the same as being addicted to smack
Yeah but the original point was about drug use resulting in property crime. Your point relates to another conversation on the merits of legalising the use of certain drugsThis.
Remember it being a quite frequent occurrence in the late 90s.
It's the same supply line and you fund the same people.
