Prostate Cancer

I had OHS in December last year (replacement aortic valve and 2 x CABG) and thought I would be struggling for travel insurance. I found that going for single journey insurance was better than looking for annual cover. I went to visit relatives in Gambia at the start of March (about 3 months post op) and got cover with these people...

AllClear Travel - Compare Medical Travel Insurance UK | Official Website

I obviously answered all their questions and declared all my operations, conditions and meds and the price was just under £40 for 8 days. Worth a try at least...

Thanks....All Clear Travel wouldn't give me a quote. Probably because of the cancer and the heart.

Good luck mate. Cancer is weighing heavy on my family right now, it’s a **** of a disease and I hope you are ok.

I have a few of the symptoms but went to see a doctor a few months back after putting it off for a while. She said it didn’t feel enlarged so hopefully I was worrying about nowt, but I’m not so sure she’s right. Feels a bit like I can’t go back for a second opinion or it just looks like I like doctors fingers up me hoop.

You f***ing deviant bastard, you... ;)

I'm recovering from kidney cancer. I'm starting to feel human again. It takes time to recover after any operation but it also takes time to catch up emotionally. Hope all goes well for anyone dealing with this horrible disease.
Best wishes to one and all dealing with this twat of a disease.

Had my Prostate removed 4 years ago next month and I'm still here enjoying the usual blood sports Max,As you said it's surprising how many blokes have had Prostate cancer and survived.

Just finished 32 consecutive days of radiotherapy last month for prostate cancer.
On hormone injections for next 18 month.
Used to suffer bad backs and groin pain constantly.
Feel fit as a flea now..
I’ve just finished 28 days mate.
They’re telling me I don’t need the next hormone injection and I’m going to be monitored over the next year so it’s looking canny, not counting my chickens though. My symptoms were simply going to the toilet many times during the night.
Anyway hope you get the all clear mate.

My mrs dad has been having symptoms. He had the “finger test” then went for a scan on his prostate, scan on his lymph nodes and a he’s got one on his bones today. I think he’s fearing the worst but he’s trying to put a brave face on.

My grandfather died of prostate cancer but he’d been having symptoms for more than a year and by the time he went to the doctors it was already in his bones. The silly old fool would probably still be here if he’d gone for tests straight away.

More men die with it than from it.
Yes, but it spreads to the bones or lungs in many cases. .once that happens, your fucked. My Dad has it, Doctors said its dormant and very low risk. He fell during lockdown and damaged his hip. A bone scan unearthed a large cyst in his hip caused by mastitic bone cancer, which spread from his prostate. We are all gutted, and this could have been a voided easily with treatment.
