Pritchard, Gooch and Batth - Mowbray not ruling out them leaving

He’s right though isn’t he. He might as well prepare them for what might happen. I was sat in the stand on Sunday and by 1730 I had people behind slaughtering Clarke and roberts shouting that they’re shi*e and asking why we were giving them the ball etc.
It hasn't got even remotely close to it being brutal, you'll always have people whinging ay games. Even when things are going well

I'm not surprised. They've signed two centre halves. We've several fit right backs and we've signed Dack.

Probably think they can utilise the wages elsewhere.

However i think Batth is just too reliable to let go and we're an injury to Ballard away from being back to last season at centre half. having lost Amad we have few right sided attacking options and Gooch probably remains our best crosser of a ball, as well as having some of the strength and determination we lack on occasions and Prichard is a good little footballer.

It's concerning as at the moment we've gone far too far down the way of being reliant on kids and I've got no faith we'd replace any of them with a bit of experience or strength or even quality.

But we we are told trust the process …… I’m starting to think last season was lucky
Last season was Mowbray and the squad overachieving in a weaker than usual Championship with one hand tied behind their back...the striker situation still hasn't been addressed and people are surprised we are now struggling.

The manager and players will be sick to the back teeth of the situation which still hasn't been addressed and rightly so.

Pretty sure there will not be one team in League football, or non-league for that matter, that has gone as long as we have without a fit, recognised striker.

I consider myself a "happy clapper" but imo the above is unforgivable and I have said the same for a while now. People say we scored plenty last season and the problems are at the back....you defend from the front, a striker gives you an out ball to get up the field and take the pressure of the back 4 etc as well as giving the wide players something to aim at and focus on instead of having to do it all themselves.

If not addressed then this will implode from the dressing room outwards, which may be what is happening, as the players will/should be quite rightly f*cked off themselves at the lack of support for them within the corridors of power.

Sick of hearing about it and sick of hearing from Mowbray about it to be honest, less talk and more action needed from everyone involved, sharpish

I agree we should keep Batth, but Gooch and Pritchard’s perceived abilities seem to have increased dramatically since the end of last season according to some.

Roberts, Clarke, Neil, Patterson, O’Nien, Stewart, Evans, Dack, Ballard have all now either played a good bit of football or have played more or less a minimum of two seasons in a first team environment.

The above might not all be seasoned veterans and obviously still have to learn (what player under 25/26/27 doesn’t), but the narrative that we only have kids who’ve barely kicked a ball is a bit over the top to me.

As usual, somewhere between the extreme ends of the spectrum is where the truth lies.

Obviously, the striker thing is an issue, but we do have players who can be considered to have a reasonable amount of experience without having played 10 years or so.

Well the model is clearly to have a squad of kids on relative buttons and to get rid of anyone earning a decent wage.

it’s an absolute farce to be honest.

Basically spend absolute pennies and try and kill the wool over people’s eyes it’s the
Model

pritchard and batth were both signed under this model 🤷‍♂️

Who are they?

Clarke roberts yes. Of course

Hume. Yes. Who else? In them positions

I’m not saying gooch is great but he’s a far better option off the bench than Bennette and ba
He's about 4 th choice left back and 3rd rb he rarely plays as a winger now

Even if the initial plan was to move them on, Speakman / Mowbray need to chat about whether it's really the right time to be losing the experience they bring right now when the mood around the place isn't the best.
If we get to January and sitting in a comfortable position, they're on the fringes of the first team I'd say fair enough let them move on with their contracts winding down. But as it stands Batth and Pritchard still vastly improve our starting 11.
It would be a mistake to let them leave imo.

Remember when you said Roberts was poor? Lol
A lot of the time he’s all fart nee shite.

See Saturday. Runs into people time and time again. He’s outstanding when he’s on which isn’t as often as it should be for a player with his talent.

That’s reflected by his returns. 7 goals in 65 games for a player as talented as him isn’t great

Spot-on

I think Pritchard will want a move now that he's not first choice so it makes sense to let him go, especially with Dack coming in.

Gooch is a strange one cos he's been at the club for so long and has been a great servant. I guess he just blocks some of the younger lads from Progressing and we already have Onien who can cover, and also Huggins who can play both full back positions.

Batth is the only one I think we really miss. If he goes, so does his leadership, and our most experienced defender, which should be invaluable to the young lads we've got whilst giving us taht solid base at the back. I think losing a player of his standing is a big miss both on and off the field.
