Sunday 12:00ish has to be favourite. Too many civilians around for a Saturday early ko.
It will deffo be on tv. Not many standout games , arsenal v Liverpool, us v mags then probley Boro v villa .
Man Utd will be on. They always are for the viewing figures. There’ll certainly be a non league team on anarl.

It's the huge police presence that often causes trouble and turns the atmosphere aggressive. People see them all suited and booted, shouting, dogs barking, horses, pushing people, and they automatically get excited.

It was proven when they stopped escorting us from central to st james that there was less trouble. People feel protected by the police and start acting like hard men when they see the opposition, take them away and most people are like mice because they don't want to get chinned.

The police presence at the boro games recently has been ridiculously OTT, clearly just taking advantage for the overtime pay.

Imagine how great the atmosphere would be if it was an evening game, it'll still be good but not what it could be. Just means we have to start drinking at 8am.

The police on duty don’t get overtime for match days. Their rest days are rearranged so there are sufficient numbers available. This has been posted on here several times by serving and former police officers. I am neither btw.

All fair points

Except for the 1800th time, the police do not get overtime for derby games. It’s a boring cliche people trot out as some sort of dig.

I know a few pollis lads who would rather be in their seats at the game if their days off hadn’t been cancelled. They have to work for them for free and get another days holiday.

It’s massively true that people act the tit behind a line of pollis who wouldn’t say a word if they were nowhere to be seen. Embarrassing blokes

Boro games have been ridiculous recently

Its already been stated, but how come other police forces can cope with kick offs on an evening and 15:00 on a weekend? they do seem to be either either just taking the easy route or are incompetent
Manchester, Brum-Villa, Liverpool and even those Brownshirt Gimps at the Met seem to be able to handle an afternoon, evening and night time Derby game....

It's just the Dunces at Northumbria Police who REFUSE to cope with any of those.
