OK, I'll spell it out for you, you utter imbecile. We have less options because they are there. But it doesn't mean we can't go at all, it just may be an inconvenience. Which is what I said earlier, before you tried to be a clever-shite.

It's only one weekend that they're there, but it stops us going there (using the previous format) for a lot longer.

I was only pointing a fact out.

Anyway, here's the facts.
It seems people want a tour of Germany similar to the last one.
That involved playing three games over six days, including two weekends. Perfect for travelling fans.

NUFC are already playing there on the weekend 2nd-3rd August.

So I doubt we'd play anywhere near them in the week spanning the weekends 2nd & 3rd to 9th & 10th.
And similarly we'd probably be blocked from playing the week spanning the weekends 26th &27th to 2nd & 3rd.

And the league season starts on 16 August.

So that's the entire period from Monday 21st July to Friday 15th August where we'd be unable to play anywhere near where The Skunks are playing.

So it would limit either the dates we play there, the area we play at, or the format of any tour.

So go on then, explain when we'd be playing there.
"Its one weekend man......."

Jesus mate, that's a really long winded way of saying you are just guessing

Facts are we could play any weekend from the start of pre season to August 16th other than the weekend of the 2nd/3rd. We could also play a midweek game if needed

Think it may well be Europe this year , the last 2 years have been good but short haul would be nice for a change

Don't know how much input comes from the manager, and how much from the board and commercial departments? (At both SAFC and Brighton) ...

But if it's been GP's choice ...
The 3 pre-seasons he was at BHA, they've always played in Europe.

Twice in Portugal, once in Spain, once in France.
If there's anything to be read out of that.

Any idea who they played and where??

You've just been, haven't you?

Aye, I was in Dusseldorf last weekend. Went to watch Munster play on the Saturday but got the kick off time mixed up (I got there after 13:30 thinking the KO was 14:30 ). Decided to head to Gelsenkirchen on the way back to watch the footy and see if I could find our game on anywhere. First bar I walk into and there's an SAFC pennant on the wall. No-one in the bar knew why it was there but its been there for a while. No other teams colours apart from Schalke either. Whilst the locals were friendly enough I got the distinct feeling that Schalke fans take no shit from anyone. The vermin could be in for a nasty shock if they don't behave themselves.

Went to Cologne on Sunday but tickets were like rocking horse shit.

PS Just checked Lufthansa and there's still plenty of seats available so hopefully there won't be many of the fuckers about.

I hope they all end up staying in Gelsenkirchen because in my (admittedly limited) experience of it, it's shite.

I didn't go very far but its definitely an industrial city. Lots of Schalke flags have pictures of pit heads on them. IIRC the largest pit museum is in the area too.

It's definitely a city where everything is geared towards the football team these days, remind you of anywhere? ;)

The Zollverein in Essen? Went past that on a tram once, f***ing massive like!

Schalke is twinned city with Newcastle (what ever that means) And when I went to watch with Schalke with a newcastle friend, the fans we talked too seemed to have an interest in newcastle because of that.
