Poyet vows to create new ethos at Sunderland

I am sure he will do the best job he can. I am sure being halfhearted is not in GP's dictionary. But we have just heard it all before from managers like Mick McCarthy, Martin O'Neill, Steve Bruce, Roy Keane and PDC. How they want to instill a new ethos. A new mentality. And it hasn't worked. People like me are scared to put yet more faith in a manager because of all the bad experienced before.

Depressed or unsure? You put your hand on a hot surface it get's burned. Do you think you could do it again?

You'd think the club wasn't on its most successful run in our lifetimes like.

You've picked the wrong club to support these last 15 years marra. We've never had it so good.
You could have had Leeds, Stockport or Portsmouth for example...one whose collapse properly suited your personality...

Quite right! Change guarantees nothing. Actions speak louder than words. Proving this new ethos is something that can and will work is more important than trumpeting it to the world.
He got us playing good football, kept us up and got us to a cup final. Those enough actions for you? PDC's ethos seemed to be to bully players on the training pitch.

Way too much unnecessary aggression You're over compensating again. Take some time out, take stock of your life and make the necessary changes. Chances are you're not the impotent, limp wristed fanny you think you are.
You still here piss flaps? Building up to a season of slagging the lads off again?

Big difference between Bergkamp/Juninho and Larsson/Cattermole. Bergkamp and Juninho were world-class. We won't be signing world-class names. We will be relying on, as we have always done, Championship players or players from Guatemala's 3rd Division because we think we can get something out of them that hasn't been unlocked. Some inner potential. We saw it with players like Dossena, Bridcutt and that Kyrgakos I think his name was. We saw it all the time under Reidy. He collected them. Players like Laslandes, Fredgaard, Mercimek and Medina.
Exactly right, "just as we've always done". As a matter of fact out of our last 30 or so transfers, I can think of Liam Bridcutt from the Championship. I can't think of any from the Guatemalan 3rd Division, or even it's equivalent any where in the world, if in fact there is one . So spot on as usual SBC, you have this football banter nailed and we would do well to remember that.

Those 2 clips, is it really us, f***ing magnificent, never seen us play like that in over 40 years of following the lads
Shows what he is trying to do and that is without a pre-season to impose his way of playing. Don't see why anyone wouldn't be optimistic.

Really looking forward to the season ahead. Think we are going to continue to grow and develop as a team under Gus.
God there really are some pessimistic moaning, boring posters on this board!

i wonder if that means playing 5 at the back and nearly getting us relegated again , actions are louder than words , niall quin said the same thing i believe
