And people think he's a good manager

He would kill for a 10th place finish...the f***ing clown

Careful what you wish for mate. If Poyet goes what makes you think the current regime at Sunderland will replace him with anything better? Newcastle hounded Pardew out and may well end up with Carver;)

It might be how i read it but i can't get round how, when asked about pressing. ....basically getting stuck into the opposition (as teams do) he stated only reids team ever did (wrong ) and others didnt (again wrong)

Virtually everyone is here is demanding new players and Gus comes out and says the same thing and gets slated for it. Says it all about this place these days.
His point seems to be that it's the fault of previous managers for buying bad players and setting up a losing mentality, congerton and short for not buying better players, and the players for not being more intelligent. Yet genius gus doesn't say anything about his role in all of this

I'd rather see us go down fighting than not even put up a fight under poyet

I can actually see what he is trying to do and (tin hat on here), I think it has actually worked pretty well away from home and a couple of incidents and decisions etc here and there could easily have seen us sitting on 28-26 points now and being firmly in mid table. Its very narrow margins sometimes in this league.

The moment Gus Poyet had been waiting for arrived when someone asked why his players had “stood off” Liverpool. Surely, continued the questioner, Sunderland are synonymous with getting in the faces of their opponents?

“No,” said the manager, seizing an opportunity to drop his bosses a not so cryptic hint. “That was the characteristic of one Sunderland, the one with Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn. The rest of the teams of Sunderland did not have any characteristics. They were rubbish. They were playing for relegation and suffering. I am trying something but we are miles away to a point that worries me.”....

Fuck yeah....the man has a point.
Poyet was pissing me off, but that statement that tone is apt, it's the truth and it's undeniable, with the exception of Keanes keeping us up and Bruce's 10th it's been same old typical Sunderland , hoping to stay up with no real plan
