Poyet is bookies favourite to be next manager sacked?

Seems to me that the DOF is towing Short's line (keep spending down) and Poyet doesn't like it. His ambition is higher than short's, so he doesn't want to risk his reputation again, after what has gone on this season.

Tow ropes are illegal in the UK these days man.

From back in March

The Sunderland boss said: ‘It’s normal all over the world. The word technical director or sporting director can be seen as the devil but it’s normal.
The most important thing is the relationship between the manager and that person.
'It needs to be spot on, it needs to be in the same direction, because otherwise it won’t work
. For me it’s natural. I don’t worry at all.’

It's the highlighted bit that may be cause for concern.

While the non highlighted bits put my mind at ease. It's a system he's comfortable with. If both Poyet and Congerton are honest with each other, and there's no agendas being furthered, it'll work. 50/50 split, Congerton wins some, Poyet wins some, and they watch each others back and present a united front to others.

A pigeon just fell from the sky at my feet having exhausted itself flying all the way from Marathon in Greece to bear news of Poyet's imminent departure from our beloved club.

As I bent down to pick it up it winked at me and said "Only kidding mate: Streaker has the gen...."

I was astonished that a pigeon could speak. I thought that was the preserve of parrots, mynah birds etc.....

A fast running coolie knocked on my front door and told me, "Gussie Gonnie..." He quickly ran off as well.

If I was Gus, with no affinity to the club, I would look at what Short is offering to do and if his ambition didnt match mine id activate the leaving clause in my contract. What hes achieved here is nothing short of amazing and their will be plenty of takers trust me. He can afford to sit on his arse for a season or two before another club contacts him. You have to remember that one of the reasons he fell out with Brighton was his ambition to move on and talk to other potential clubs. Also his family is based in the South too. So it really wouldnt suprise me. Id feel for the likes of Bridcutt coming here to play for him..

This really.

Clearly there is plenty of smoke here and the story wont go away. Unfortunately and if he does go Gus is picking up the backwash of the previous inept managers who have been allowed to waste tens of millions on shite.

Just been on a tour of the Olympic Stadium, seat in the dugout with GP on it

Gus really isn't going to walk, is he? In recent days, a plethora of reports in the tabloid press have thrown Gus Poyet's Sunderland future into question. It has been claimed that Gus Poyet isn't committed to the club and has a list of hard demands which he expects to be met if he is going to be persuaded not to activate a clause in his contract...
