..And so he leaves with an errant apostrophe to remember him by.
I'ts an unlikely spot to misplace one, too. Subliminal perhaps to remind us of all the errant spots where Poyet positioned his players this season.

Shame, obviously.

Some of the things he did , it became impossible to defend him any longer.

Awful football. Awful team selections. Awful substitutions. Some really annoying quotes in the media.

Hope we stay up and then get allardyce.

“Sadly, we have not made the progress that any of us had hoped for this season and we find ourselves battling, once again, at the wrong end of the table. We have therefore made the difficult decision that a change is needed.”

Our two best players last season were Ki and Borini. We replaced them with Rodwell (can't get a game) and Alvarez (the dictionary definition of average), and the club 'hoped' for progress?

Poyet is no loss, but unless the club acknowledges that change is required from a policy standpoint, he's little more than a scapegoat.

Owner Ellis Short said in a statement: "I would like to thank Gus for his endeavours during his time at the club, in particular last season’s 'great escape' and cup final appearance, which will live long in the memory of every Sunderland fan.
