when we set off in shorts and T-shirts and have to change into Jeans and jumpers when we get there, I would suggest there is a difference.

The way the weather in this country has changed though the North East has just about the best overall weather in the country. Not as hot in the summer but still very pleasant but without the extremes the South/South West/Wales etc have been experiencing at other times.

Correct, I have been in Exeter for 12 years now, and I do believe I have turned into a southern softy, its certainly warmer down here. Even the rain is warmer

The South West gets lots of rain, warm rain. I was told it was the English Riviera, they meant river

The whole Northeast has less than a quarter of active escorts than London.

I hate seeing the North East getting a bad rap.

Fuck millionaire footballers with their shallow, vacuous, materialistic WAGS.

Let the fuckers stay in London and spend the money they 'steal' weekly ..the majority of the capital a shit hole anyway.
The north east is an awesome region with great countryside, coastline and too many places of natural beauty to mention here.

Its sad, but most footballers don't have the intelligence to appreciate anything beyond £1000 bottles of champagne, sleeve tattoos, Porsches and plastic titties.

Rant over

The problem is, normal people could see the advantage of living in the North East, lower cost of living, house prices. But that doesnt matter to multi millionaires. Put yourself in their shoes. I am biased, but I would sign for the lads and own a house with a lot of land in the Durham countryside.

f***ing easy being a millionaire, where is my lottery ticket

That looks like you want to be a farmer not a footballer.

It's a bit more than just the idea of settling in the NE, Gus. Do you really want me as a fan to spell out our problems we have had difficulty correcting the last 10 years? Do you want me to run through the number of staggeringly atrocious players we have signed? Do you want me to think of an example of when we have played shockingly bad? Do you want me to tell you about your predecessors?

Hate to say it but the is not a brand new problem, if that's the case how did bruce attract bent, gyan, cana, welbeck? The problem is desire to play and if they don't want to play for this club, balls to them !

I found that a positive and refreshing read, unlike the headline. Good on Gus imo, he's got it spot on.

londons less than 300 mile away though, theres not that much difference in weather

It's London though. New York and Chicago have shitty weather too, but people make exceptions for certain cities.

“If I want to live my life away from football, I’d pick Sardinia or Spain or the south of France, but in terms of football then here at Sunderland you have everything. There’s a massive training ground, a good atmosphere, magnificent support - that is what you should want as a player.”

thats spot on.

Exactly!

Additionally a beautiful arena to play football in for historically one of the most successful clubs in England.

How did middlesbrough get
Junnhio
Raveinelli
Boskic
Merson
Etc etc

Paying big bucks nowt to dee with the area
Middlesbrough is still a crap hole but they had some Excellent players
You pay the money the players will come

Of course. But as we already make a 30 mill loss every season and rightly cant pay the big bucks to bring players in on the level that Ravenelli and Juninho were then the London v Sunderland argument is absolutely a fair one.

if these players were getting realistic wages, instead of 30 grand for sitting on a bench sometimes, they might come to appreciate that its not all about location to get a wage. if you have to work on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean, to get a really good wage you'll do it.

should we put that oil rig in the centre of london instead, because the view is shitty?

i wonder what qpr's debt is? they must have a far better income than us.............

Weather 300 miles south of the north east is considerably better.
Same as 300 miles south of London is France for instance.

To be fair your right & in addition I'd say our weather is better than the likes of Liverpool & Manchester the amount of sh!te that comes off the Atlantic usually is gone by the time it hits the peak district or pennines. Not to say we don't get our fair share on bad weather but that west side I'd say is worse than the NE.
