Didn't say Newcastle I said Tyneside!

Wouldn't know the exact figures but they got a canny winking bridge, a pretendy Sydney Opera house thing, a place to hang pictures on the wall that used to be a flour mill, a rusty angel and generally turned the city into a vibrant place......we couldn't even get Vauxies site cleared of rubble!

you think new labour did that?

it always amazes me just how little people know about whats going on their doorstep

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyne_and_Wear_Development_Corporation

have a read about the twdc. they were responsible for the quayside regeneration initially (and st peters) but much of newcastles investment was private.

where new labour, old labour or tory national governments fit in i'll never know.

Agree as was much all over the country. Judge a city's future by the presence of tower cranes.

You rarely if ever have the mags complaining about this shite. Why do we then? We seem to do it regularly.

How did middlesbrough get
Junnhio
Raveinelli
Boskic
Merson
Etc etc

Paying big bucks nowt to dee with the area
Middlesbrough is still a crap hole but they had some Excellent players
You pay the money the players will come

They also didn't bang on about how shit the area was at any given opportunity. Ourselves and the club are our own worst enemy at times.

Wasn't long ago Wickham was on twitter saying he was bored shitless cos there was fuck all up here.

Well that tell's you all you need to know about some of the modern young players today, we've got some of the best coastline in the country, the whole north east is packed full of history, we have some great area's to visit in this part of the world but he's got his knickers in a twist because there's no designer clothes shop open 24 hours to cater to his needs?

To be honest the vast majority of footballers have no idea what real life is like. They work 2 hours a day , 5 days a week, have so much money they cant spend it, spoiled f***ing brats the majority of them

What exactly do these footballers want to do in their down time? They're professional athletes ffs. Train and then retreat to their luxury mansions, with private gyms, swimming pools, full wall size tellys and relax/re cooperate/piss about on play staions, spend time with their families, go to the cinema and then same again the next day. What exactly do they need? Professional athletes don't need to be going to fancy bars every day and plenty of places to eat in the north east. Then, the amount of money they earn, piss off on their luxury holiday somewhere for a month at the end of the season. More than enough nice places to live up here. Bunch of fannies!

Also get much more for their money up here as well, house wise.

Thought the vast majority of footballers played golf in their spare time

Geography is irrelevant if we payed more wages than other places is actually saying geography isn't irrelevant

Got our wires crossed there. I didn't mean higher than other clubs, I meant higher than they are now ie. competing with other clubs. Never mind.

I think Gus, and previous managers have done the club a disservice making an issue about this. I agree with you. They should shut it, or work harder at finding positives to say. Maybe this has come as a result of him not telling Scocco it would be cold in January, and him being miserable because of it.

Given your name irony?

All of the things you mention there are the reasons why our national team is shit. Players in this country in general are not as dedicated to their career as they should be. That's because they don't need to be very good to get paid a fortune. Money comes too easy to them.

The biggest attraction for players are trophies, or I should say, the possibilities of winning them and seeing as we are always on the outskirts of relegation, don't look a likely prospect, of course money and location count, but that would be forgotten if we were a club that were up there winning things.
And yes, there's a massive difference between the weather here and London.
