Portsmouth wanting more tickets

More revenue for the club, the new regime will surely give them as many as they want, but as others have said they would gain a bigger advantage from having more of their support at the SoL, so it’s a no from me.
After the demand for Wembley tickets, surely Sunderland fans would fill those seats?

Amazed how many are against this. Morally we should oblige - other sides have helped us out with larger allocations for our away days - even moving home fans out of their season ticket seats. That's without the money argument, which would come in handy to.

We can't ask for increased away allocations and then refuse when it's at our ground, despite having 16000 empty seats most matches

Back for the play off final. ;)
Don’t marra, just don’t. I’m not even contemplating that....... but now you mention it, aye, I am, and if it comes to it I’ll be there. If someone lopped me legs off I’d jog there on me stumps.

Why wouldn't they mate.

I'm a little bored with all this 'oh you don't understand, these aren't Portsmouth hooligans just people who never go'.

It's like people who say, 'that was nothing to do with the Germans, it was just a load of horrible Nazis'
I’ve not said any of that to be fair. If they come up here acting the arse they’ll get howked.

They'll have been on the pop since daft o'clock anarl. We refused Wolves last season, but I'm sure someone brought 4k this?
It was wrong we refused Wolves as well. 2000 extra tickets is approaching £40000, could probably employ two staff for that. The same people against it probably complain when people are made redundant.

Give them another 2k.

Just look at what other clubs have done for us this year for our large away following. Rochdale have bent over backwards for us tomorrow to ensure we have over 4k tickets.

They are the second biggest supported club in the league behind us... give them 4k and the attendance could push 40k plus.

Should we be putting money before reducing the chance of potential trouble. The Celtic friendly was clearly done to bring money in, that went well mind.

No, but will there be much trouble? I have seen a few posts on here about trouble at wembley, but I didn't personally see any and pubs were shared with both fans in many cases. We don't have a massive history with portsmouth.

The SMB always over plays the potential of bother in my experience

No way give them more , 3k is more than enough .
Hopefully the club release tickets for general sale to our supporters ASAP rather than wait til 2 weeks before
They are on sale next week. Unless it is likely to be sealing promotion I doubt we will get anywhere near needing those extra 2000 portsmouth want

There's a bit of a conundrum here mate.

I've seen various posts from people hoping the 'decent' Portsmouth supporters don't encounter any hostility.

Now, that's fine and quite proper.

However, on more than one occasion last Sunday I saw 'decent' Portsmouth people turn away when they saw decent Sunderland people being abused and intimidated. Would I be wrong in saying that, in general, if that situation was reversed some of our lot would be saying 'Haway lads, let it be' and encouraging the louts to be reasonable.

There comes a point when if you're ignoring the problem you become part of it.

If ordinary supporters allow their scumbag brethren to provoke confrontations they can't complain too much if they end up being caught up in the results.
You wouldn’t be wrong as I’ve seen it happen myself many times going back to the seventies.

Like I'm sure you have mate, I have been in plenty of football crowds over the years. There was an edge last week. Maybe I felt it more because I hadn't had a drink and had the kids with me, but there was something in the air on Wembley way. Most were singing and having a good time, fans from both sides. However there was Portsmouth fans making wanker geasutures, flicking the Vs and being dicks in front of families. We come down the steps out of Wembley Park tube and stopped just past the under pass. A bloke told me they had been spitting over the top. I changed my opinion of them last week.

I want to win promotion not the biggest crowd competition. The less of them , the less they will be heard and the better for us. Rather the club do £10 tickets to sc holders or tickets for schools than give them a bigger allocation.
