We had to leave Roker. No matter who was running the club would have had to take us from Roker. Hardly a masterstroke.

Yeah agree but Bob made it happen.
Everton need to leave Goodison -still there.
World is full of bullshit people who promise and dont deliver, never my fav chairman but he made it happen.

Mr Parry makes his living by picking a subject that gets people to phone in
f***ing bell end.

Er, well yeah!

Graham Courtney was on TS early this morning discussing the match as he was there last night with Porky, and wasn't too kind on owld ginger pubes.

They'd set themselves up to stay at the same hotel as Everton, Porky was like a child hassling players for autographs etc, and when he saw Moyes through a window he felt the immediate need to approach him (no doubt for the same thing), and barged through a fire door, setting all the fire alarms off.

Later at the match, a steward approached Courtney and asked "Are you looking after Mike Parry?" he said "Well, not looking after him as such..." to which the steward reported "Well, can you come and get him, because he's being an embarrassment in a Directors box".

Our 'new' stadium might lack soul, but to be honest, I'd rather go there than a hovel like Goodison, Anfield or Bloomfield Road.

It's a piece of grass with seats round it. The reception area and the main stand are superb to look at and be in but the rest of the Stadium is breeze block and plastic seats.

If an old ground is redeveloped it will be concrete block and plastic seats, I really don't see the attraction of keeping an old ramshackle old stadium and trying to do it up. There are very few of the old stadiums that merit keeping compared to the advantages of a new purpose built complex. One of the few exceptions to this would be somewhere like Villa Park, but a lot of that has been "platicised" already.

The atmosphere has more to do with it being all seats and likeminded people not being able to congregate together rather than it being new.

There should be a sweary noisy, stand up if you want end, where kids aren't allowed and a place where you can go and sit and enjoy the match without people standing in front of you and you being offended if someone says fuck. or cunt

As nonesense goes, this takes some beating. The atmosphere is determined by the mood of the fans, not plastic seats. Please, PLEASE dont start another chapter in the "Real fans always stand" debate as that is also demonstrably ridiculous.

They can't expand though, that's what i thought anyway!??

Similar scenario to Roker Park. Surely one of the best things we did was move.

It is, new grounds have plenty about them imho. Look at bayerns arsenals etc etc when and if we ever build all around the sol it will also look alot different. What i do wish we would do is paint the fucker outside maybe red paint the f***ing breeze blocks inside the ground as well.

Paint the brick? I can understand the block walls but wouldnt like them to paint the facing brick like

Goodison can be expanded. The previous council and well respected architects have confirmed it is possible. What is lacking is the will to do.

Bell end !!

The SoL is a great stadium, well-located and we didn't break the bank to build it. A masterstroke by Bob.

This.

The lack of "character" can only be changed by us as supporters.

The SFG and the Ha'way the Flags are all doing their bit to improve the atmosphere and character of our ground.

If you care, get involved.

It is more to do with the alloaction of the seats than the seats themselves. Likeminded people can't get together and the atmosphere is subdued.

I prefer to sit and would choose to sit rather than stand but not having an area that is a bit more lively does make for a worse atmosphere.

I agree.

The SWC is the best we can muster to this end, however the lack of a proper standing area will always be a detrimental factor.
