Pork Belly recipes?

is it just me that whacks it in the oven for a couple of hours? just dry the skin well rub with a bit salt and pepper and away you go. It`s belly so plenty of flavour anyway and being belly stays as juicy as owt. Flicky if the mrs turn her nose up tell her to sell her taste buds cos she obviously has nee use for them. Can`t beat belly pork and I honestly can`t see why folk are so sniffy about it
It’s class like that as well. King of all the meats to me, cheap and ridiculously tasty.
 
I ended up marinading it in a soy, chilli, ginger, garlic & honey mix. Scored the skin and rubbed salt in then left for the day in the fridge before roasting it high for 20 minutes then low for a couple of hours.

Absolutely delicious with stir fried veg finished off with the caramelised marinade and some soba noodles and the crackling on the side.

Got top marks so pretty chuffed with that.

Wow! That’s a beast of a piece.
When we slaughter we get 2 pieces of belly and 2 pieces of rib joint and all pieces are about the size of an A4 bit of paper.
These are 1/2s of one of those.
Disgusting stuff. I'll never be convinced that eating fat tastes nice
Putting it in for a long time shifts lots of it but it is still fatty.

I've bought a pork belly and looking to have it tomorrow so plenty time to prep, marinade whatever. Looking for a decent recipe to impress the missus who has turned her nose up at the thought of it, ideally one with crispy crackling.
Take the belly pork......... and hoy it in the bin

Why would people be so up themselves about it? Genuine question, never came across that reaction.

Met a few people be very stuffy about belly pork for some reason. As Wilfy said its a cheap cut for a start and because its natural and layered with fat rather than a nicely presented lean shoulder or loin usually some actually see it as more offal than a proper cut. Must admit its been more people younger than me.

And anyone who knows anything knows the fat is what gives meat the lovely flavour.

I'm reluctant to post this as you may never want to eat a different meal again, it's that good.

Made this tonight....
So easy, but fuck me, unbelievably tasty. I was a bit worried that the fat would taste "fatty" (rather than being crackling), but it was superb.
Have a like mate.
