Popularity of this forum

I've been on nearly six years. It took me a long time to man up, post something and take the resultant flak with a pinch of salt. I think PF is first class compared to other clubs forums. SMB is very useful for asking for, or giving help to others. I dip into other streams, but tend to steer clear of the physical and mental health one, although I have toyed with starting a 'life coaching' section to impart much of the experiences I gained as a wellbeing coach..

It's undoubtedly the best not just football forum but any other type of forum out there imo. The layout is clear. The sub forums are split nicely. A great wide ranging selection of posters. I've lost count the amount of times I've laughter out loud reading it and shedded a tear doing the same. It's the first place I head to on a morning and the last place I visit at night. Any type of breaking news and my first reaction is to head to here to see what people are saying. Long live the Sunderland message boards
All of this. So much more than a football forum.

I don't know if maybe there was a high water mark of users and activity like a few years ago and we're now slowly declining because of other forms of social media, but it's definitely busier than its early days. If you look at Gold threads which at the time felt like true epics, some of them are only a few hundred posts where its commonplace for any topic that gains a bit of interest to have thousands now. I remember an absolute nonsense thread before the split of forms, this would be Parsnipped now, but people were speculating what if it gets to a thousand replies?
