Pompey travel for the players

They've definitely flew down, there are pictures on twitter. What I'm confused about was after all the COVID cases at various clubs around Christmas time the EFL brought in new protocols. One of these was around travel to away games. They said to accommodate social distancing clubs would need to travel on multiple coaches. If clubs fail to follow the protocols and there are outbreaks they could be fined or even face point deductions. Has this been scrapped already, have we used multiple planes or have we just thought fuck it?

@BenHouchen: Sunderland AFC flying from Teesside today. Here are some pictures! ✅ Treasury North Campus ✅ Freeport ✅ Sunderland AFC Teesside is now THE choice, remember when it used to be Newcastle?
The Mayor of Teesside has been brilliant for their area, he’s brought them the Freeport, got teeside airport up and running properly with flights to more destinations, he’s brought endless amount of work to the region. Maybe some of the mayors from other places could take note, they just sit on their arses getting fat knowing their safe because they’re Labour

No idea at all, but are planes more Covid safe than buses in some way (wouldn't have thought so with the air circulation but you never know)? Maybe we just got a f***ing massive plane with plenty space. Or aye, maybe we thought it would likely only be a fine for a first offence and KLD thought fuck it

Can we tell Pompey fans they have to fly from Southampton to get to Spain?

Or is it just mags who think an airport means something?

It's like the jangling of keys thing which literally no one gets wound up about. That and "you can't fly to Spain from Sunderland". Erm, alright lads, crack on. You have to come to Sunderland to see a national glass centre, no one gives a fuck

Unsure mate, do you want to highlight the issue and report the club to the EFL?

I think it will be agreed on a case by case basis. In terms of preparation it's not realistic to think a professional football club with our resources should be expected to travel down to Portsmouth for a Tuesday night game using several different buses when they train with each other on a daily basis anyhow. I'm pleased they've flown down, it's the sensible choice.

Obviously they got around this by using multiple airplanes
