It's a case of how long we persist. This season is massive for SAFC, we need to go up. Our income is going to drop regardless as the parachute payments finish, but league one will see us about £6m further worse off than we'll be if we go up. Keeping Ross would be taking a major chance whereby we're hoping he suddenly starts getting the performances that, to be quite honest, he's never really managed to get us producing, certainly since January. If there was any positive I might argue he'll improve, but I don't think any aspect of the footballing side has improved since he arrived. If we're getting new owners we can do better and don't need to take the risk. If we're not, the financial risk of failing to go up suggests we'd be sensible not to risk it all on him suddenly turning it around. Either way I'm struggling to see a scenario whereby we're best placed giving him a few more months or whatever
He’s lost it basically. He’s so trapped in the mentality that we have to keep a clean sheet at any cost that he can’t see anything else. It was literally the first thing he said after the Bolton game!

Am flabbergasted that anyone thinks we should keep this bloke, are there lots of mags voting ?

The bottom line is, to secure comfortable automatic promotion you should be getting routine victories every other week and grinding out wins, draws and the occasional loss the rest of the time.

We are grinding out results pretty much every week, with as many draws as wins. That won't get us in the top 2 and is therefore unacceptable.

Ross out.

Agree with this. We have managed to grind out some acceptable results this season but, imo, that is because it is an incredibly weak league. In terms of top 2, which obviously has to be the aim, the performances have been so poor that I don't think we will consistently get the wins to keep us up there. Too often we'll get caught and only draw, or lose. Said it before but often we've won having played shit (Rochdale springs to mind) and you hear the old cliche that playing badly and winning is the sign of a good side. It isn't, the sign of a good side is normally playing well and winning, but still managing to often grind out the win on the odd occasion they play poorly. We could easily have lost to Rochdale, we then haven't improved and failed to beat Bolton, were smacked by Peterborough. Without getting drastically better we aren't on target for anything other than play offs (and even that could change)

Ross doesnt acknowledge what everyone can see.We lack a game plan, look unfit, we dont press we are not a very attacking team, we cant control the ball or pass it and our defence is shit, he cant see any of this?

That doesnt look very good does it?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Absolute tripe.

He’s a good lad Fyl, but clueless on football. He doesn’t realise it mind and will deny it passionately :lol:

Agree. Out of the 9 league games, 6 of them we couldn’t have had any complaints if we’d actually lost

Ipswich, Oxford, Rochdale, Rotherham, Bolton & Peterborough.

Results & points flattering us so far this season. it just seems a follow on from the collapse last season
