Police in North Carolina shot a disabled man

Shining a light in their faces got him shot. That and the fact that they've got guns and are itching to use them.

My money is on them not getting locked up for this monumental fuck up.

I hope the bloke survives and sues the fuck out of them.

shot for carrying a torch, mind a tad of sympathy as they might have thought it was a gun. However is he meant to take them at there word that they are coppers. Fucked up country.

Letting loose a volley of gunfire that would stop a small army shouldn't be the first response from the police though. They really are a shoot first ask questions later kind of police here.
Had something in his right hand the taytey, could have been anything 🔫
That is where their training (or at least the training of the officer in charge) should have kicked in by providing clear instruction before everyone opened fire. They woke them up before 5am, there is going to be confusion.

I agree, it was just a pistol grip torch probably wasn't the best thing to take to the door. However, that shouldn't have to enter your thought processes.

It's no coincidence that the largest number of civilians killed by police in the developed world is also the same country that has the largest civilian gun ownership. Whilst the police are seemingly trigger happy, they are also paranoid and probably scared. Everyone person they interact with is potentially going to be armed with a gun.

Regardless if the bloke had committed a crime this is ridiculous. Ofcourse it being America nothing is going to happen to them for being trigger happy.
