On the theme of the shoplifting thread has anyone noticed on all these reality police documentaries how rarely at the end the Police manage to get a conviction, the charges are dropped or case discontinued.
Been loads of these type of programmes on at the moment - 24 hours in police custody, the met, the force, police interceptors etc...
Occasionally catch them and at the end when they run through the outcomes they nearly all always seem to get off.
Seen a few where it looked bang to rights. People caught with a knife etc... and then at the end it's 'Charges were dropped' or released without charge. Even on the met when armed police arrested a couple with a loaded gun in the glovebox it said the case was acquitted and new charges against another defendent dropped.
Must be sickening for the police like and makes you wonder how efficient the justice system is.
