Points system in the DCL

I have never understood this masses of points in games.

We have simply:

7 for a win but the opposition must be bowled out

5 if u don't

1 point losing draw batting 2nd if you get 75% of the score without being bowled out

2 points for 90% as above

3 each for a tie

2 each for an abandonment

2 each for an abandonment is correct we got beat with 2 balls left having got the game on yesterday against a team well above us and got 1 point

If we had sat on our arses and not bothered we would have got 5

Aye, it's shite that like. There's been plenty clubs in the past who would do everything in their power to call a game off! So when a side put the graft in to ensure a match ensues it's a bit of a kick in the knackers when you get no reward for it.

The reward is actually a penalty for effort

Whether or not a team beats the weather, if they don't take wickets or score enough runs, they don't deserve any bonus points.

An abandoned game is similar to a draw, except you don't get the chance to accumulate bonus points - seems fair enough to me.
