Poached eggs 🥚 on toast 🍞

The best method I’ve found is to place the eggs in a bowl of hot water with th shell still on for a minute before cracking them into the pan. The albumen begins to cook, so they don’t break up in the pan. No need for vinegar or swirling the water.
That is a coddled egg, I think.

Poached eggs are my nemesis, I’ve tried all sorts of techniques but none of them work for me so I just never bother making them.

Don’t give in . Do this.

Use fresh eggs. Test them in a bowl of water, they should lie flat

Crack them into a sieve then decant into a cup or ramekin

Get a pan of GENTLY boiling water

swirl water in pan with a spoon, wait a few seconds

gently lower egg into water, leave it alone

set timer for 3 minutes

left out with a spoon and gently press egg so you learn how they feel and how you like them

Drain on kitchen paper

Eat.

Good luck 🍀

how do you use the stir method if you are making more than one? you'd have to do one at a time take them out and put them back in to warm? or multiple pans.

You can crack any amount into a single pan swirl. I did 8 the other day.

Bought some duck eggs on the back of this thread, particularly the pics in the title. Got some salmon, asparagus, wholemeal bread and lemon to go with the yolky bastards.

Buy a poaching pan. Boil the kettle. Put half an inch of boiling water in the pan put the lid on and have it simmer on the hob. Balance the ramekin holder part of the pan on the edge of two tea cups Brush the 4 ramekins with butter and crack an egg in to each. Lift the lot in to the poaching pan, replace the lid. Set timer on phone to 4 minutes 35 seconds. Perfection.

Just done two perfect ones in the microwave. I use a small ramekin sort of pot. Prick the yolk, two teaspoons of water and blast for 20 seconds and rest for 3 or 4 times until done as you like.
Smashed avocado, sea salt crystals and plenty of black pepper. No bread so I used an oatcake!

Could not disagree more.
Free country mate👍

Got one, couldn’t get it to work. 🤣

Anyone else a fan of this nice healthy dish .
Has to be brown bread for me.
Eggs have to be runny (obviously)
Generously buttered 🧈 toast.
Generous season of salt and black pepper.

Tip . ( Never drop the eggs in boiling hot water that's bubbling ,just smashes the eggs up no need, also no need to swirl the water or add vinegar ,them are just myths they achieve nothing)

Just simply boil the water , turn the heat off, let it rest , crack the eggs in a small bowl, drop them in the water after its stopped bubbling. And wait approximately 3 to 4 mins.

Sorted . Enjoy.

How do you do yours ? Similar of different? That's the only way to do it of course .^^

I had it last night. Bit of chill sauce on it. Yum!
